IKEA U.S. is excited to announce plans for a new store in Sarasota, Florida, slated to open late summer 2026, marking the sixth location in the state. Located in the University Town Center at 147 N. Cattleman Rd, the new store will bring the IKEA experience closer to the Sarasota community and the surrounding region.
“At IKEA, our focus is on making it easier for more people to access affordable, well‑designed home furnishings,” said Rob Olson, interim CEO of IKEA U.S. “Opening a new store in Sarasota builds on our broader efforts to meet customers where they are, including expanding our footprint in Florida last year through five new Plan and order points with Pick‑up at select Best Buy locations across the state.”
At IKEA Sarasota, visitors can explore a 48,000-square-foot showroom filled with inspiring, practical home solutions. The store features fully furnished room settings that highlight “local living” concepts tailored to reflect the unique needs of the Sarasota community.
Customers will find over 5,000 products on display, including more than 3,000 curated items, accessories, lighting, textiles and 100+ small furniture pieces, available for immediate takeaway. Larger items, such as sofas, beds and the entire IKEA range, can be conveniently ordered online or in-store, with free pickup or affordable delivery. Customers can also schedule one-on-one consultations with experts at the central planning area for personalized kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and small-space design advice. Additionally, the Swedish Deli offers IKEA favorites, meatballs, plant balls, falafel balls, veggie dogs, cinnamon buns, and more, for in-store dining or to take home.
As part of our commitment to sustainability, IKEA Sarasota will feature an As-Is section, offering gently used products and discontinued items at even more affordable prices. This initiative reflects the company’s dedication to reducing waste and giving products a second life.
“Sarasota is a growing area with a strong sense of community, and we’re pleased to be opening a store in such a welcoming place,” said Laetitia Gouverneur, market manager, IKEA Tampa. “We’re committed to making it easier for local residents to experience IKEA, bringing the dream of a better home within reach for the local Sarasota community.”
IKEA is committed to enhancing customer experience through a variety of locations and services that meet diverse home furnishing needs. Alongside new store openings, IKEA U.S. has invested in improving its e-commerce platform and expanding service offerings, such as new IKEA Family and IKEA for Business benefits, lower-priced shipping and delivery, Click & Collect and TaskRabbit assembly services.
