Dallas Market Center Announces Lightovation Dates Through 2028

Dallas Market Center announced the dates for Lightovation, the largest trade event for the business of residential lighting, through 2028. The updated dates reflect a shift beginning in January 2027 to dates that directly overlap Total Home & Gift Market and follow the date pattern of Wednesday to Saturday.
The shift back to the traditional date pattern for Lightovation was made after surveying lighting retailers in January 2026 who expressed a preference for increased overlap with the Total Home & Gift Market and a return to a more traditional mid-January timeframe after 2027.
The January 2027 edition will be the final year the show begins during the first week of the new year. Beginning in 2028, January Lightovation will shift later in the month, addressing retailer concerns about timing while maintaining alignment with the broader Dallas Market calendar. Dates for Design + Build Day at Lightovation will be announced later.
“This adjustment reflects direct input from the lighting retailer community,” said Cindy Morris, president and CEO of Dallas Market Center. “We understand the concerns about an early start to the show, which takes place for only one more year. Beginning in 2028 we’re beginning the show later in January, creating stronger overlap with Total Home & Gift Market, and delivering a schedule that better supports planning, travel, discovery, and buying cycles.”
