S-CAB has embarked on a new collaboration with Pietro Cocco, a photographer deeply influenced by contemporary art and culture, to create images that introduce the company’s future vision. ‘Changing Perspectives’, the name given to the series of shots, outlines a visual language that paves the way towards 2027, year in which the company will celebrate its 70th anniversary.
Luisa Battaglia, art director and co-owner of the brand, states, “In recent years, we have sought to tell the story of our products through images capable of highlighting our core as a manufacturer of outdoor furniture and accessories. With Pietro Cocco, we wanted to underline an aspect that has always accompanied us in the initial design phase: each of our products is conceived and defined by its close relationship with the human body. This led us to introduce a change of perspective. Pietro Cocco, with a fresh language and an ironic eye, has captured the primordial essence of S-CAB while at the same time offering a representation of its future.”
“Changing Perspectives” tells the story of a conscious evolution of the brand. For S-CAB, changing perspective means interpreting the contemporary through the visions of designers, placing identity and uniqueness at the center, design as a tool to create value, and quality as an essential element of production.
On the threshold of its 70 years of history, S-CAB looks to the future with optimism: changing perspective is not a break with the past, but a process, as well as an opportunity.
“The project comes from a desire to surprise and change perspective. Design is told from unusual angles, breaking with the classic interpretation of the object and placing it in a direct relationship with the human body. People and products interact, support, and complete one another, giving life to images that stun and intrigue. The result is a visual narrative that brings design closer to people and makes it more alive and authentic,” says Pietro Cocco.
The visuals defy conventions and surprise. By moving beyond the usual interpretation of the object as an abstract presence, devoid of a direct relationship with the human body, the images of ‘Changing Perspectives’ frame the furniture from unexpected points of view. The result is a vigorous and striking visual narrative destined to get noticed.
Two images were produced, featuring the Koala and Koala Open chairs, designed by Zaven, but they could be any other product from the S-CAB collection: the relationship with the human body is inherent in every object.
