Italian luxury house Turri, founded in 1925, and known for its "Made in Italy" craftsmanship of specialized high-end, contemporary, and bespoke furniture, will unveil the B.E.L.T. Collection, designed Matteo Nunziati, an internationally respected architect and designer, at the Salone del Mobile Milano, April 21-26. B.E.L.T., which stands for Bespoke. Exclusivity. Luxury by Turri., is a modular seating system defined by a bold leather strap and “T” metal hardware which functions as a unifying detail communicating Turri’s commitment to custom, functional furniture that fully embraces comfort.
According to Andrea Turri, CEO and fourth-generation leader of the Carugo, Italy–based maker, “B.E.L.T. expresses a uniquely Italian vision of home style translated into a contemporary vocabulary. Turri interprets the authentic spirit of each piece through the lens of our history and artisanal soul — excellence in leather craftsmanship and master furniture-making, from stitching and cording to upholstery — aligned with more than a century of heritage.”
Beyond its distinctive detailing, B.E.L.T. is engineered for contemporary flexibility. Modular configurations include 2-3 seat couch, chaise lounges, poufs, and integrated tables, allowing the system to adapt seamlessly to open-plan American interiors — from Manhattan lofts to expansive West Coast residences. Each piece is custom-made, with a wide selection of Turri fabrics, and leather finishes available in woven or smooth variations. Prices upon request.
Heritage, Reinterpreted
B.E.L.T. draws inspiration from 19th-century European travel trunks — objects that evolved from utilitarian containers into refined status symbols during the rise of rail travel. Crafted in ateliers in Paris and Milan for a new class of cosmopolitan travelers, those trunks merged technical precision with sartorial elegance.
Nunziati channels that legacy into a sculptural, architectural sofa defined by calibrated rectangular volumes, tailored piping, and meticulously selected leathers and textiles. The result feels both structured and inviting — precise yet soft.
“I consider myself a rational designer,” says Nunziati. “My process is structured — I research historical references, study archetypes, and analyze products that have proven successful. Yet there is always a moment that defies logic. When I begin sketching, one line suddenly stands out. I follow it instinctively. That moment became the belt—the element that anchors the entire collection.”
Nunziati has received numerous international awards and was the first designer of the Karl Lagerfeld Maison collection. His portfolio includes exceptional residential projects such as the penthouse at 432 Park Avenue in New York City, as well as collaborations with leading hospitality brands, including Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane and voco West Bay Suites, one of the largest five-star hotels in Doha.
Designed for How We Live Now
Turri’s artisanal expertise is evident in every element: hand-finished leather, couture-level upholstery, and refined construction that balance visual rigor with deep comfort. While B.E.L.T. carries the aura of a collectible design object, it is fundamentally conceived for daily life. The proportions are generous, the seating experience inviting, and the craftsmanship built for longevity.
Moreno Vitaloni, Chief Commercial Officer of Turri, stated, “As Turri expands into the Americas we look forward to increasing the visibility and knowledge of our 100 years of design traditions and excellence.”
Collectible — and Livable
With B.E.L.T., the Italian house reinforces its position in the American market: honoring heritage while delivering modern, statement-making pieces designed for the way we live now.
For Turri, luxury is not excess — it is the elevation of the everyday through beauty, material integrity, and uncompromising detail. Turri is available in the US through Dexelance Showroom, 192 Lexington Avenue, by appointment, Thiago Loureiro, thiago.loureiro@turri.com, 917-753-3894.
