The High Point Market Authority (HPMA) announces its Sunday Keynote address at Market, “Creating Health-based Design: Beauty, Neuroaesthetics and Biophilia,” presented in partnership with Science in Design, on April 26 at 3 p.m. An immersive keynote presentation will spotlight interior designers certified through the Science in Design educational program, including Kat Blue, Marie Cloud, Michelle George, Angela Harris, Gabrielle Kozhukh-Joo, and Erica McLain.
Drawing from each designer’s work, program founder Mike Peterson will lead a first-ever virtual showhouse tour demonstrating design principles informed by neuroaesthetics and biophilia.
Citing research from Johns Hopkins University and the Penn Center for Neuroaesthetics, the presentation explores how interior design supports health and well-being through intentional, science-based choices. With the aid of 3D renderings, attendees will experience how emerging insights are translated into practical, beautiful interiors.
“This keynote offers a compelling look at how science and design intersect to enhance the way we live,” says Tammy Covington, president and CEO of HPMA. “Guests will gain a deeper understanding of how designers are using research-driven strategies to create spaces that positively impact the human experience.”
The Sunday Keynote is open to all registered High Point Market attendees. The High Point Theatre is located next to the Transportation Terminal. The venue will open its doors at 2:30 p.m. Additional Keynote event details may be found online at www.highpointmarket.org/keynoteseries.
