As trend cycles move faster than ever, consumers are stepping back from microtrends and overconsumption and returning to simpler roots to curate a home that feels nostalgic, calming and intentional over time. Graber’s 2026 Trend Update highlights three styles driving interiors this year: Modern Homestead, Midimalism and Monochrome and how window treatments are one of the easiest, highest-impact ways to bring these looks to life.
MODERN HOMESTEAD
The vibe: elevated “lived-in” cottagecore; heritage warmth, but cleaner and more refined. Country-inspired comfort with a modern lens: functional, soft, and high-quality.
What it looks like: soft, layered window treatments, raw/unfinished elements + “imperfections”, neutral hues + historic color hints, heirloom details: lace, florals, weathered textures.
MIDIMALISM
The vibe: the happy medium between minimalism and maximalism; clean, aesthetic space, curated personality. Balances grounded calm with subtle joy and personal expression (without overwhelming the room).
What it looks like: solar/roller shades for a clean base, clutter-free space + bold colors/patterns, harmonized color strategy, statement pieces, curated lighting and art.
MONOCHROME
The vibe: Not just beige. Color drenching, tonal layers and mood-driven rooms. Treats rooms like art, drenched in color and using tone + texture to create depth.
What it looks like: window treatments that blend in or “disappear” (perhaps matching wall color), one color in multiple tones.
“Today’s homeowners are taking a more intentional approach to design, prioritizing spaces that feel personal and timeless, rather than driven by what’s trending in the moment,” said Erica Flynn, Graber’s executive director.
“That mindset is shaping the way interiors are evolving this year, from the refined comfort of Modern Homestead to the curated balance of Midimalism, to the grounding, mood-driven nature of Monochrome spaces. Window treatments play a critical role across all three styles, as they have the ability to instantly influence light, texture and atmosphere, making them one of the most impactful ways to express these looks without overwhelming a space.”
