After more than two decades as a cornerstone of Cherry Creek North, HW Home, one of Colorado’s most influential and locally owned home furnishings brands, is entering a bold new chapter. The company announced today its forthcoming move to 9th & Colorado (9+CO), the 26-acre urban infill community developed by Continuum Partners with new investment partners M Development and Carlton Associates.
This relocation marks a defining moment in HW Home’s 26-year history, culminating in the opening of a 10,000-square-foot flagship showroom at 9+CO in Spring 2026.
Founded in 1999 by Ron Werner and Jim Hering, HW Home takes a unique approach to home décor that is decidedly eclectic, offering a wide selection of home furnishings from around the world including one-of-a-kind pieces. HW Home opened its first location on Pearl Street in Boulder before bringing its design-forward vision to Denver in 2004 with a flagship at Clayton Lane in Cherry Creek North. HW Home will leave its current Cherry Creek North location to move into a forever home at 8th Avenue and Albion Street at 9+CO.
“We’re entering our next era of design-driven living. This is a flagship move. A homecoming. A transformation that reflects years of growth, evolution, and resilience in a changing Cherry Creek North landscape,” said Ron Werner, owner and founder of HW Home. “9+CO sits at the epicenter of some of Denver’s most iconic neighborhoods where many of our customers live and provides incredibly easy access, great visibility along Colorado Boulevard – one of the busiest roads in the Metro area – and lots of free parking. This is also a community that strongly supports local and independent businesses, so we know we’ll feel right at home.”
At 10,000 square feet, HW Home’s new 9+CO location will have 50% more showroom space than they had at the Clayton Lane location. Werner said they will be incorporating design elements that speak to the company’s history and lineage including reusing the reclaimed maple floor and recreating the onyx wall, both iconic elements from the original Clayton Lane store. HW Home plans to begin construction on the new space in the new year with an anticipated opening in late spring 2026.
“We could not be more excited to welcome HW Home and their customers to the 9+CO community,” said Matt Schartz, director of asset management at Continuum Partners. “With a prime location at the corner of 8th and Albion and 10,000 square feet of space, HW Home will essentially be a new anchor tenant for this thriving community and an ideal complement to our existing retail offering.”
Sean Kulzer with Blue West Capital represented HW Home in the deal while Melissa Machell of Continuum Partners represented 9+CO. Architectural services are being led by Jim Pfeiffer of UNUM Collaborative.
Recently named a Mayor’s Design Awards winner in the category of Open Space, Street Activation and Placemaking, the 9+CO project is comprised of approximately two million square feet of mixed-use development on 26 acres. A highly walkable development, 9+CO is designed to complement and connect with the surrounding residential neighborhoods, integrating open space and pedestrian amenities with a mix of uses including residential, office, retail and entertainment – not to mention plentiful public parking.
