Italian Designers Artemest Showcase Master Craftsmen’s Work

Artemest, the destination offering access to the world of Italian craftsmanship and design, was founded in 2015 by the shared vision of CEO Marco Credendino and Creative Director Ippolita Rostagno. Aiming at showcasing Italy’s refined artisanal heritage to the world, Artemest provides discerning buyers the opportunity to effortlessly explore and shop the best of contemporary Italian design.

This is the context for the work of Giulio Caponi, selected by Artemest as part of its search for the most interesting contemporary artists. For the textile artist, it is an opportunity to present himself to an international audience alongside the best Italian companies in the categories of furniture, lighting, decoration, tableware, art, and lifestyle.

A journey to discover timeless pieces and the stories of their creators: master craftsmen who combine centuries-old techniques with modern sensibilities. An affinity that fully reflects the approach of Giulio Caponi, whose works evoke an inner world of memory, nature, and ancient gestures reinterpreted with an authentically contemporary vision.

‘9 settimane’ (‘9 weeks’), tapestry

From the Linea Contemporanea collection, a unique tapestry where art and nature merge in a delicate narrative. Made of cross-stitched cotton, ‘9 settimane’ takes its inspiration from the cycles of life and the beauty of natural landscapes: the deep blue of the fishes, the flowers blooming in the center, the brown of the earth that supports everything. Each stitch is the result of patient and precise manual work, capable of transforming the tapestry into an object that speaks, breathes, and evokes emotion. Ideal for those who want to bring elegance, color, and an authentic connection with nature to contemporary spaces, this tapestry reflects Giulio Caponi’s artistic sensibility in creating works capable of telling visual and tactile stories.

Dimensions: 280x180 cm.

‘Evoluzione Sentimentale del Verde Urbano d’Autunno’ (‘Sentimental Evolution of Urban Greenery in Autumn’), rug

A unique piece from the Linea Contemporanea collection. A rug that brings the sensitivity of urban nature in autumn directly into your interior. Every shade of green has been meticulously studied to create a poetic and harmonious effect, transforming the carpet into a true visual narrative. The result of Giulio Caponi’s master craftsmanship, this unique piece combines elegance and emotional depth, offering an unparalleled tactile and visual experience for contemporary spaces. The rug is embroidered with wool from Sardinia, spun and carded by hand and dyed with local herbs, fruits, and flowers. Grass stitch workmanship.

Dimensions: 245x220 cm.

‘Ippopotami di Notte’ (‘Hippos at Night’), rug

A unique piece from the Nuove Creazioni collection, this rug belongs to the Trasferelli series, Giulio Caponi’s tribute to temporary tattoos that were transferred from paper to skin with a little water, sweet memories of childhood. A world dedicated to playmates: hippos, crocodiles, fantasy animals, dragons, mangroves, plants, and flowers. A must-have for feeling like a real young pirate! The artist proposes the hippopotamus, but everyone can choose the design they love.

The rug is made of grass-stitched carpet. The work is embroidered with wool from Sardinia, obtained by hand spinning and carding and dyed with local herbs, fruits, and flowers.

Dimensions: 250x150 cm.

‘La Bellezza della Viola’ (The Beauty of the Violet), rug

Part of the Linea Contemporanea collection. A unique rug where poetry and craftsmanship meet. Made of felt with Alpine wool, ‘La Bellezza della Viola’ celebrates the encounter between words and flowers, which intertwine in a visual and tactile narrative. Every detail is the result of meticulous manual workmanship, capable of transforming a rug into a true work of art. Perfect for those who want to bring elegance, color, and meaning to contemporary spaces, this rug expresses Giulio Caponi’s refined sensitivity in creating objects that speak, think, and evoke emotion. The felt, which is completely natural, is made by a group of disabled young people from South Tyrol who raise a flock of sheep, shear them, and manually process the fabric, which is then dyed with natural elements. Grass stitch technique used.

Dimensions: 205x255 cm.
