King Koil, a global leader in the manufacture of quality mattress products, recently launched a new five-year exclusive license agreement with Dreambed Co., Ltd for Japan.
Dreambed, founded in 1950, rose from humble beginnings to be a powerhouse in Japan’s bedding and furniture industries. The company manufactures and distributes bedding products in Japan under the Dreambed and Water World brands and also has exclusive licenses for Japan for the Serta and Ruf Batten bedding brands and for the Ligne Roset furniture brand. Dreambed was listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange in May 2021. After conducting meticulous and careful planning for its King Koil product portfolio and marketing materials, Dreambed officially launched the King Koil brand in Japan in mid-October 2025.
“We are very excited to enter into this partnership with King Koil. We are aware of the long rich history of the King Koil brand, its premium positioning in the USA, and its strength internationally. Having been involved in the bedding industry in Japan for over 70 years and having grown multiple international bedding and furniture brands in Japan, we know what it will take to make King Koil a successful brand in Japan and look forward to the challenge. Our core competencies in design, operations and marketing will enable us to position King Koil as a premium product offering in Japan,” said Hiroto Mikaye, president of Dreambed.
“Dreambed is an ideal partner for the King Koil brand in Japan. The company has a long successful history in Japan, understands the Japanese customer’s unique preferences, and has a sophisticated manufacturing and distribution operation in Japan. They understand the value that a U.S.-based brand brings to their business, and I am very confident that King Koil will in time become a well-known brand in Japan. We are thrilled that Dreambed has committed to this relationship with King Koil,” said David Binke, CEO of King Koil.
