Currey & Company Appoints Industry Veterans to Key Positions

Newly named Vice President of Key Accounts, Mary M. Wilson, has joined Currey & Company where she brings decades of global leadership in product development, design strategy, merchandising, and international sales. Prior to her position with Currey & Company, she served as Director of Design at Cyan Design where she led a company- wide creative initiative to transform its product line and brand. Previously she served as Director of Business Development International Sales at Leftbank Art.

Ms. Wilson founded the original Studio A Home, known for its eclectic, refined mix of accessories, artifacts, and furniture. In 2010 , a partnership with the Global Views ownership formed Studio A Home, a Global Views Company. Her experience in product design and development spans nine countries where she built curated assortments in multiple categories of home furnishings.

Ms. Wilson adds, “Delivering creative, tailored solutions to our customers is my North Star. It’ s more than developing compelling, beautiful product. It’s also about creating innovative solutions that truly resonate with customers.”

Mary holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and business administration from Valparaiso University in Indiana and is a Rotary Foundation Graduate Journalism Fellow from University of Munich.

Drew Alden joins Currey & Company as Director of Furniture after a ten- year tenure with Havertys Furniture – a noted retailer of furniture founded in 1885 in Atlanta, Georgia. He recently spent five years as Buyer for Havertys overseeing the product range for key categories including occasional tables, media furniture, accent furniture, along with office and outdoor furnishings.

His responsibilities as a buyer included new product forecasting, product training, merchandising presentations, and analyzing sales and trends. Prior to his role as a buyer, Mr. Alden spent five years as a Product Development and Sourcing Manager for Havertys. He managed the entire process for direct import merchandise from concept through production. Drew spent a considerable amount of time abroad overseeing product production, researching potential new sourcing, and identifying new materials and manufacturing processes. Before Havertys, Drew held positions at American Woodcrafters and Art Van Furniture.

Vice President of Product Development & Design, Pam Bailey shares, “ All of us at Currey & Company are thrilled to welcome Drew as our new Director of Furniture. He possesses the rare dual talent of being a very accomplished furniture designer and a collaborative, creative merchant. His eye for style and t rends along with his acumen for assortment planning will help drive forward the growth of the company’s furniture program.”

Drew holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Furniture Design from Kendall College of Art & Design in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
