Bob’s Discount Furniture Announces Major Milestone in Hunger Relief

As the holiday season approaches, Bob’s Discount Furniture, one of the fastest-growing omnichannel furniture retailers in the country, is proud to announce that it has surpassed a major milestone, donating over $2 million to hunger relief organizations across the United States since the launch of its annual Thanksgiving initiative in 2014.

This year alone, the Bob’s Discount Furniture Charitable Foundation is distributing $214,000 to food assistance organizations nationwide, with each Bob’s store and distribution center presenting a $1,000 donation check to a local hunger relief partner.

“Bob’s Discount Furniture and its employees are proud to support food pantries in our communities,” said Bob Kaufman, president emeritus, and co-founder of Bob’s Discount Furniture. “This year’s donations bring the total for our annual Thanksgiving initiative to over two million dollars. We know that many people struggle to feed their families, and we’re hoping these donations help provide meals to those in need this holiday season.”

For more than a decade, Bob’s Charitable Foundation has partnered with hunger relief organizations across the country to help ensure food security for families during the holidays and beyond. One of the company’s long-standing partners is the Community Services League (CSL) of Jackson County in Independence, Missouri.

“Bob’s Discount Furniture continues to show what it means to be a true community partner,” said Richard Betts, Chief Development Officer, Community Services League. “Their annual donations make a direct and measurable impact with the families we serve helping keep shelves stocked and hope alive during times when it’s needed most.”

With over 100 years of service, CSL has grown into the largest and most comprehensive social services organization in the area, supporting more than 20,000 individuals each year across 13 locations, including eight food pantries. CSL provides a broad range of services from housing and workforce development to financial coaching and wealth-building programs helping neighbors build stable, successful futures.

Bob’s store employees also support the company’s hunger relief efforts through in-store food drives. Since 2022, Bob’s New York–based stores have partnered with City Harvest, the city’s largest food rescue organization, collecting more than 1,350 pounds of food to date for New Yorkers in need.
