American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame Events Hosted at HPMKT

The American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame® hosted several social and educational events during the Oct. 25-29 High Point Market. Opened in April of 2023, this world-class space provides a place for the home furnishings industry and the public to gather, honor and learn, while also serving as a hub for a host of ongoing activities and events, including workshops, seminars and meetings.

For the Fall Market, the American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame also opened a new lighting exhibit and trend exhibit.  Designed to inspire, the Hall of Fame celebrated leaders and each person who makes the home furnishings industry $150 billion strong.

The events began with a Ribbon Cutting for their new exhibit, Art of Illumination. The ribbon-cutting ceremony accompanied by champagne opened a new lighting exhibit exploring the major role that quality lighting plays in delivering fashion and function to homes.  The exhibit shows the evolution of lighting over time and is designed to inspire and amaze consumers and industry veterans alike.

On Saturday, Oct. 25, the Hall of Fame Brick Dedication: Pathways of Honor celebrate those newly honored in the Pathways of Honor surrounding the Wanek Family and Ashley Furniture Industries Eternal Flame. 41 individuals and organizations placed engraved bricks were acknowledged during the ceremony

The Pinning Ceremony for the American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame Foundation took place on Sunday. This ceremony will start the induction process presenting the coveted Hall of Fame pin to Inductees, uncovered their plaques on the Wall of Fame, and dedicated bricks that were placed in the Walk of Fame.

The Induction Celebration for the Hall of Fame Foundation took place on Sunday at 5:30 p.m. at the Sheraton Greensboro. The leaders were honored through induction into the American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame.

The 2025 Inductees were Jeffrey S. Child, president, R.C. Willey Home Furnishings; William A. Hinks, founder and chairman, Furniture Mart USA; Stanley F. Pauley, former CEO and chairman, Carpenter Co.; and Norman Waxman, Norman Waxman Consulting.  Hosts for the evening were Erin and Ben Napier, authors, business owners and television personalities.

Finally, The AI-Fueled Future of Interiors seminar took place on Monday, Oct 27. AI is transforming not only how things are designed, but also how businesses are run. From sourcing, to supply chain, to client connections, the technology is changing every link in the value chain.

The conversation was moderated by Jaye Anna Mize, vice president of advisory and partnerships at Future Snoops, the panel explored how AI is reshaping the industry.

The Foundation celebrated this Fall’s High Point Market with all who came to the Hall of Fame and their events.
