Hooker Furnishings Announces Key Leadership Appointments

Hooker Furnishings has announced key leadership appointments, including the addition of two new team members and the promotion of two experienced leaders into expanded roles. These strategic moves are designed to accelerate the company’s collected living brand strategy—an approach that presents a unified vision that aligns product development, marketing, and customer experience around a common mission that combines craftsmanship, innovation, and lifestyle versatility across categories.

New team members include Misty Ellis, who joins Hooker Furnishings as director of design for custom upholstery. She brings a wealth of design expertise and deep industry knowledge from her previous position at Lee Industries that will strengthen the company’s custom upholstery division and support continued innovation in this critical category.

Christy Almond joins the company as vice president of collected living, bringing extensive industry expertise, having most recently served as vice president of customer solutions at Swavelle Group. In this role, Almond is responsible for the continued development and execution of collected living across Hooker Furnishings’ legacy brands.

Leadership promotions and role changes include Emily Boyst, who has been promoted from senior director of marketing partnerships to vice president of experiential retail & licensing. In this role, she will lead the strategy and execution of Hooker Furnishings’ experiential retail and licensing initiatives, bringing fresh perspective and proven leadership in creating engaging brand experiences.

Kathryn Behmer, who was promoted to merchandising manager in Nov 2024, has been promoted to director of merchandising, where she will lead the occasional and accents categories, including C&M, Mélange, and Entertainment.

“We are pleased to welcome Misty and Christy to Hooker Furnishings and to recognize Emily and Kathryn for their continued contributions and leadership,” said Jeremy Hoff,

CEO of Hooker Furnishings.  “Each of these individuals brings valuable experience and perspective that will support our strategic initiatives and drive continued progress across the company.”
