Hooker Furnishings Expands Global Supply Chain with Warehouse in Vietnam

Hooker Furnishings has expanded its global supply chain by opening a new 205,000-square-foot warehouse in Vietnam. The new facility enhances the company’s ability to help retailers reduce costs and improve delivery times through an innovative mixed container platform.

As part of the expansion, the company is launching a flexible mixed-container program that covers 17 collections—a first in the industry. It will enable retailers to consolidate product categories into a single shipment, resulting in better freight rates and allowing them to receive deliveries in as little as six weeks, leading to significant savings over purchases from the company’s domestic warehouses. This initiative supports the company’s broader growth and supply chain strategy by giving retailers access to a full range of products in weeks, not months.

“This new warehouse and mixed container initiative represents a major step forward in how we support our retail partners,” said Jeremy Hoff, CEO of Hooker Furnishings. “By providing retailers with more flexibility, faster turnaround times, and significant cost savings, we’re helping them stay competitive in a challenging global market. It’s a game-changer for our retail partners.”

The program will be implemented in three phases, according to Matt Cowan, executive vice president of sales at Hooker Furnishings. Phase 1 includes bedrooms, dining, and accents; Phase 2 covers enhanced accents and individual pieces; and Phase 3, expected in the fourth quarter, will showcase Hooker Furnishings upholstery and Sunset West, the company’s outdoor line. The initial capacity of 175 containers will increase to 350 in Phase 2 and approximately 520 once Phase 3 is completed. With the majority of its products now sourced from Vietnam, retailers can access a complete assortment in weeks rather than months, achieving a speed previously not possible.

“The new facility has allowed us to develop a strategy for filling a container of product and shipping it more cost-effectively than from our U.S. warehouse,” Cowan said. “It offers a variety of products from 17 collections sourced from different suppliers, all stored in one warehouse.”

By combining global reach with flexible programs, Hooker Furnishings continues to provide retailers with the tools they need to compete and grow in today’s marketplace.
