Symphony Sleep Discovers Consumer Sleep Struggles to Reinforce Solutions

Symphony Sleep®, the residential bedding brand of Innovative Sleep Technologies, is using social listening to uncover real consumer sleep struggles and reinforce the solutions already built into its product line. By monitoring conversations on platforms like Reddit, Facebook groups, and other online communities, the company is identifying the issues that literally keep people up at night.
In recent months, Symphony Sleep has noted a growing number of online posts where consumers share their “home-made recipes” for better rest, explained company president John Schulte. From layering pillows for support to creating makeshift inclines on sofas and recliners, these DIY experiments often highlight problems the company’s products are designed to solve. One Reddit thread featured users attempting to sleep on an incline to improve airflow and reduce snoring. While many noted improvements in breathing, they struggled with discomfort in their hips and the challenge of maintaining their inclined position.
“Symphony Sleep already provides purpose-built solutions, such as our patented Elevation Kit and Hi-Low Lift Kit, which allow sleepers to achieve precise, supportive positioning that aligns with their individual needs and preferences,” said Schulte.
This type of insight reinforces the company’s commitment to engineering products that address genuine consumer pain points. The Elevation Kit offers health benefits like improved airflow, relief from acid reflux, and better circulation, while maintaining proper alignment in both the spine and neck. The Hi-Low Lift Kit meets positional comfort as well as assisted care needs. Together, these innovations give retailers products that directly answer the issues consumers are actively discussing online.
Symphony Sleep’s strategy extends beyond product design to full retail enablement. With point-of-sale demo videos, training tools, and impactful in-store marketing, such as the What’s Your Sleep Angle? campaign, the company helps retailers educate shoppers—particularly those who may be unaware of the health benefits of adjustable bases. This end-to-end approach ensures retailers can connect the dots between online consumer conversations and real in-store solutions.
“By pairing social listening with engineering expertise, we’re able to transform DIY frustrations into innovative products that improve quality of life,” said Schulte. “And by equipping retailers with the tools to tell that story, we strengthen their ability to meet customer needs and grow sales.”
