Furniture First, a leading national cooperative buying group serving independent home furnishings and bedding retailers, is rolling out their new prime consumer financing program to their membership this fall. Bread Financial®, a tech-forward financial services company that provides simple, personalized payment, lending, and saving solutions, was selected by the Board of Directors as the new issuer.
The program will feature a private label credit card exclusive to retailers that are members of Furniture First. Retailers will receive quarterly and holiday specials as well as buy downs on financing that Furniture First enables for use on all product categories.
“We went through an extensive search process to find the right issuer,” said Andrew Kauffman, CEO of Furniture First. “Bread Financial stepped up with a program that provides outstanding value with a solid plan for growth. Our cooperative is built around serving our members’ needs, and our program will allow members to feature financing specials as we enter the crucial fourth quarter of this year.”
“Bread Financial is excited to work with Furniture First,” said Rick Cunningham, senior vice president of strategy at Bread Financial. “We look forward to empowering its members with innovative financing solutions that enhance the shopping experience, foster customer loyalty and support business growth.”
“Bread Financial has extensive experience delivering financing options to a variety of brands, which will serve our buying group’s members well,” said Ryan Felix, services coordinator at Furniture First. “They understand the furniture industry and the needs of customers purchasing big ticket items, which will benefit the nearly 70% of members who take advantage of our prime financing option.” Felix noted that this includes smaller members selling $2 million a year, as well as members who are in the Top 100.
Bread Financial and Furniture First are streamlining the transition through their established partnerships with Versatile Credit, meaning members can continue using Versatile’s waterfall financing solution without interruption.
“We are proud to continue supporting Furniture First and its merchants as a key technology partner,” said Ed O’Donnell, CEO of Versatile Credit. “This collaboration with Bread Financial ensures members can maintain a seamless and consistent credit program. Our platform provides the continuity needed for an effortless transition, empowering staff to easily offer financing and customers to access it in a way that is both comfortable and convenient.”
