KOKET’S Luxury Home Décor Applies Straw Through Marquetry

This Summer, KOKET introduced designs with one material KOKET hadn’t explored in its designer furniture creations until now… straw. The versatility, associated craftsmanship, and savoir-faire of applying straw through marquetry shine in KOKET’s new designs.

Similar to wood marquetry, one of the crafts KOKET incorporates into its high-end furnishings, straw marquetry is created using thin strips of straw. Wheat or oat straw is split, soaked in water, then ironed, and sometimes dyed. A detailed and time-consuming craft, straw marquetry makes a perfect new luxurious material finish choice for KOKET’s couture home decor.

In honor of the art of straw marquetry, KOKET’s founder, Janet Morais, and Creative Director Sofia Silva, along with their team, designed a  series of furniture and lighting pieces featuring striking straw finishes.
