ROAM Interior Design Opens Studio in Los Angeles

ROAM Interior Design, the global hospitality studio renowned for its immersive and sensory-driven approach to hospitality and residential projects worldwide, proudly announces the opening of its newest studio in Los Angeles. This strategic move marks an exciting milestone in the firm’s continued expansion in key regions prime for growth in the luxury hospitality category, strengthening ROAM’s presence on the West Coast in the US and adding to its impressive international presence.
ROAM is driven under the leadership of design veterans Mary Alice Palmer and Olga Acosta and their award-winning team of interior designers and interior architects underscored by a well-established international portfolio spanning best-in-class properties in hospitality including Amaala Triple Bay Yacht Club, Saudi Arabia; Mitsis Grande Hotel Rhodes, Greece; St Regis Mallorca, Spain; Hotel Saint George, Marfa, Texas; Ritz-Carlton Portland, Oregon; Auberge Resorts Bishops Lodge, Santa Fe, New Mexico and Esperanza, Los Cabos, Mexico. The firm collaborates with hospitality owners, brands, operators, developers and architectural partners globally, offering a menu of services including interior design, branding, product, creative direction, strategy, art and accessory curation, and F&B concept development.
To helm the Los Angeles studio, ROAM welcomes two highly respected design leaders: Studio Practice Leader Scott Joyce and Design Director Gareth Payne, to add their extensive design experience and mastery of their craft to ROAM’s already impressive talent pool.
With over 25 years of award-winning experience as the founder of Scott Joyce Design, Scott brings to ROAM an unparalleled expertise spanning luxury architecture, interiors, aviation design, and complex historic restorations. His portfolio includes high-profile projects featured in Architectural Digest, Elle Décor, and House Beautiful, as well as special collaborations with global brands and entertainment industry icons.
Joining him is Gareth Payne, a designer whose career spans more than 20 years at the forefront of contemporary hospitality design. His experience includes design director roles with some of the industry’s most influential figures and studios: Château Marmont for André Balazs, Tom Dixon’s Design Research Studio, and United Designers in London. Gareth’s work is defined by a distinctive narrative approach and a deep understanding of brand and place. His portfolio includes award-winning hotel projects for Mondrian, Andaz, and W Hotels, alongside a global roster of restaurants and bars.
