Saatva Celebrates 15th Anniversary with Children’s Book Release

In honor of its 15th anniversary, luxury mattress and bedding brand Saatva is proud to announce the release of its first children’s book, Touching the Sky on a Mattress That Flies. This original story celebrates the power of dreams and the importance of restful sleep, following a young girl named Lizzy as she soars through a world of imagination on a magical flying mattress.

In celebration, each Saatva Viewing Room across the country will give away 150 complimentary copies of the book—one per family—and will also offer it as a gift with an in-store purchase of a mattress from Saatva’s Kids Collection, which includes the Youth, Bunk & Trundle, and Crib mattresses, while supplies last.

“Reading with children at bedtime creates a foundation for both stronger bonds and better rest,” said Ron Rudzin, Founder and CEO of Saatva. “As a father and a sleep advocate, I believe the connection between stories and sleep is a powerful one. Books like this give families a joyful way to wind down and dream big—together.”

Inspired in part by Rudzin’s reflections in his article Raising the Next Generation of Sleep Superheroes, and insights from Saatva’s curated Sleep Enlightened Blog, the book highlights how rest helps children process emotions, grow, and learn.

Michael Gale, Vice President of Retail at Saatva, added, “We wanted to create a warm, inviting retail experience that goes beyond just shopping for a mattress. This book is a natural extension of that—it’s something parents can take home, read with their kids, and create special bedtime memories with.”

Touching the Sky on a Mattress That Flies features whimsical illustrations and rhyming verses that capture the wonder of childhood dreams. With themes of courage, imagination, and rest, the book invites children to embrace every kind of dream—big or small, bold or silly.

The book also marks the launch of #SaatvaStorytime, a new initiative designed to encourage healthy bedtime routines and foster early childhood reading habits—just in time for the back-to-school season. As families reset schedules and reestablish nighttime rituals, this story offers a meaningful way to support smoother transitions and more restful nights.
