American Freight, a trusted name in furniture and mattress retail for more than thirty years, has partnered with MAFGA in a licensing agreement that will add 31 new locations to its expanding nationwide footprint. Customers can expect the same incredible value and direct-to-consumer pricing, backed by new leadership and a strategic growth plan that puts affordability front and center.
Per this agreement, MAFGA acquired licensing rights for American Freight's intellectual property, including brand name, and logos. The additional locations in states such as Minnesota, Kansas, and Arkansas brings the American Freight Furniture & Mattress footprint to 60 open stores, with more expected in the near future. The added retail businesses are independently owned and operated by MAFGA as the licensee. With a smaller, more efficient footprint compared to big-box competitors, American Freight's goal is to operate leaner and pass savings directly to customers.
This expansion strengthens American Freight's mission: offer high-quality furniture and mattresses at low prices in a no-frills, warehouse-style environment where savings are passed directly to customers.
"This expansion is rooted in simplicity, great products at incredible prices, inventory available to take home today, and financing options for qualifying customers," said Brent Turner, Chairman of American Freight. "Our licensees will follow our lead with skipping on the flashy displays to keep overhead costs low, making it easier for customers to furnish their homes without breaking the bank."
Commitment to Value, Accessibility & Growth
American Freight's relaunch is more than a brand revival, it's a renewed commitment to serving customers with honesty, convenience, and competitive pricing. This strategic approach, backed by American Freight's retail expertise and MAFGA's development strength, is already making a lasting impact in communities across the country.
"We're proud to invest in American Freight's future," said Zack Vandenberg from MAFGA. "Our locations are focusing on what customers truly care about: affordability, availability, and simplicity; we're building something sustainable and customer focused."
Beyond driving retail expansion, the revitalization efforts aim to support local economies, preserve jobs, and ensure more families have access to quality furniture at reasonable prices.
