Pulse Capital Advisors Plans Fund for Independent Retailers

A leading marketing executive who has worked with more than 500 independent retailers across the United States has launched Pulse Capital Advisors, in collaboration with multiple funders, to provide up to $1 billion in funding to help dealers navigate a challenging retail environment.

Jake Freedman, who founded DOVR Media in 2016 to help independent retailers transition to the digital age, has worked with more than 500 businesses on tailored marketing services, including search engine optimization, paid advertising, AI-powered in-store signage and customer retention strategies. In his latest venture, Freedman aims to help those retailers navigate today’s economic turbulence.

Pulse Capital Advisors offers an easy-to-use online portal designed to make applying for funding fast and straightforward. Retailers answer five basic business questions and upload four months of bank statements. Most applicants receive a funding decision within 48 hours of submitting a complete application package, with funding of up to $500,000. While larger requests may require additional review, Freedman said most retailers are likely to seek short-term loans of about $100,000, which can be approved and disbursed quickly. Terms are flexible and tailored to each retailer’s unique needs, with funds issued directly by the collaborating funders.

“The biggest challenge independent retailers are facing right now is having the cash to support their business strategies during this period of uncertainty,” Freedman said. “There may be fewer customers coming through the door, but that doesn’t mean retailers don’t need to upgrade their space, find a new location or invest in marketing. They just don’t have the ready cash to do it. Pulse Capital solves that problem.”

Freedman sees Pulse Capital as a way to further support the independent retailers he has long championed. After nearly a decade helping them modernize their marketing and operations, he now aims to strengthen their financial health as well. He wants to equip them with access to capital so they can stay competitive, invest in growth and weather uncertain times.

Freedman leads a multidisciplinary team of marketers, designers and developers helping furniture retailers modernize without losing their local voice. He is a frequent speaker and educator in the home furnishings industry, focusing on digital transformation, AI tools for retail, and how local businesses can compete and win against national chains. He will present “The AI Advantage: Boosting Sales & Customer Engagement” at Las Vegas Market on July 28.
