IKEA U.S. Opens New Stores in Texas and Maryland

IKEA San Marcos' grand opening begins at 9:00 a.m. with exclusive giveaways of products, gift cards, and more! IKEA San Marcos is located in the San Mar Plaza shopping center at 917 SH-80 N, San Marcos, TX 78666.  

Customers can begin lining up at 7 a.m. outside of the store for the grand opening ceremony.   The store will be open from 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. Regular store hours are 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. daily. To kick off the celebration, the San Marcos High School Mariachi Band will perform live welcoming guests into the building. Customers ages 18 and up can enjoy a chance to win gift cards and furniture giveaways while supplies last. The first 100 children will each receive a soft toy while supplies last.    

At IKEA San Marcos, customers will be able to explore a nearly 35,000 square foot space designed to inspire and provide solutions for a better life at home. The store will showcase “local living” solutions thoughtfully tailored to reflect the unique everyday needs of the San Marcos community.  This store will offer more than 2,500 products on display and 2,000 items available for immediate purchase, along with a small range of Swedish Food Market items. The entire IKEA product range can be conveniently ordered online with options for free store pickup or home delivery at a minimal fee.

In Maryland, IKEA Hunt Valley Plan & order point with Pick-up will celebrate its grand opening with a celebration beginning at 11 a.m. with exclusive tours, giveaways, food sampling, and more. IKEA Hunt Valley is located in the Hunt Valley Towne Centre at 118 Shawan Rd, Cockeysville, MD 21030. 

This new format store is the second IKEA location in the Baltimore metro area and allows IKEA to better meet the needs of today’s consumer to become more accessible and affordable, bringing our home furnishing products and solutions closer to the many people.

The IKEA Hunt Valley Plan & order point with Pick-up is different from the traditional large-format IKEA stores as it gives customers the opportunity to meet with the IKEA store team to plan and order home furnishing solutions that require a bit more help – such as kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms.

While customers are unable to take products home that day, IKEA co-workers can arrange for delivery or schedule orders to be picked up from the convenient, onsite Pick-up location. With the addition of an IKEA Pick-up point, customers will be able to collect their purchases when and where it is convenient for them, supporting purchases made at the Plan & order point as well as online at IKEA.com/us. Online shoppers will have the option to pick-up qualifying orders by selecting the IKEA Hunt Valley as their preferred pick-up location at checkout.
