Capel Rugs Introduces Five New Collections in Spotlight

“Our latest introductions give retailers a variety of hot new products to promote as they head through summer and into the fall selling season,” said Cameron Capel, president – sales and marketing for Capel Rugs. 

“Business always slows a bit in the summer,” she added, “but May turned out to be a good month, and June has been as well!"

Leading off Capel Rugs’ introductions this market is Mesa, a new hand tufted collection in contemporary styling featuring a lively mix of squares, curvilinear shapes and bold lines. Part of the Capel Conserve collection of eco-friendly designs, Mesa is made of 100% all-natural undyed wool with a palette of calming, organic colors and a looped pile. Three colorways and patterns are available – limestone, sandstone and shale – along with four sizes – a 2’6” x 8’ runner, 5’ x 8’, 7’ 9” x 9’9” and 9’ x 12’. A 5’ x 8’ rug may retail for $406.

“Mesa was a standout star this spring with its loop-and-cut texture, differing yarn sizes and unique geometric designs,” Capel said.

In the hand knotted category, Capel Rugs’ newest introduction is Ashford, three elevated traditional designs made in India of 100% wool, with intricate details and impeccable color palettes. Sporting Oriental-inspired patterns that will stand the test of time. Ashford's three colorways are jade, lapis and multi, and five sizes – 3’6” x 5’6”, 5’6” x 8’6”, 7’6” x 9’6”, 8’6” x 11’6” and 9’6” x 13’6”. A 5’6” x 8’6” size may retail for $2,199.

At the Las Vegas Market, Capel Rugs also is adding a second new collection in the hand knotted category – Barclay. Hand made in India of 100% wool yarns (a blend of New Zealand and Indian wool), Barclay features an enchanting multi colorway with an ombré effect that transitions seamlessly between rich amber and deep teal tones. The gradient design creates a dynamic yet harmonious visual that enhances both modern and traditional interiors. Barclay’s pile also has a soft, luxurious feel underfoot while providing excellent resilience. Sizes include 5’ x 8’, 7’6” x 9’6” and 9’ x 12’. A 5’ x 8’ model may retail for $1,499.

“Barclay made a splash with its beautiful ombré effect of gradient colors from amber to teal,” Capel said.

Also expected to draw strong interest among retailers and designers in Las Vegas is York, a new flat woven jacquard with timeless elegance. Handloomed in India using undyed, all-natural wool, this collection radiates authenticity and an antique-inspired appeal. This design also is fully reversible, offering exceptional versatility and extended durability.

York is available in two classic designs. Marble, a subtle, organic pattern reminiscent of veined stone, offers a serene and refined aesthetic. The second design, Antique, with a nod to heritage weaving techniques, features intricate traditional motifs that echo the grandeur of antique rug designs.

Both designs are available in a variety of natural colors that are subtle and brilliantly blended to create the details in the designs. Antique includes two colorways – charcoal and beige. Marble offers three choices – charcoal, beige and brown. Each collection comes in 5’ x 8’, 7’6” x 9’6” and 9’ x 12’ sizes.

As an all-natural undyed wool collection, York is part of the eco-friendly Capel Conserve line. A 5’x 8’ rug may retail for $799.

“York garnered a lot of attention at the spring markets,” Capel said. “Retailers especially liked its organic designs and all-natural wool construction, as well as the fact that it’s totally reversible.”

Also on tap for the Las Vegas Market are two new braided rug designs being added to Capel Rugs’ made-in-the-USA Bayview collection. The additions include a new black-and-white colorway called peppercorn, and a new neutral version with more of a true sand color called linen. Highly textural, Bayview features a 5/8-inch pile height. 
 
“Bayview’s new colors are right on trend,” Capel said. “The peppercorn colorway’s contrasting black and white tones allow the textures to stand out. And the linen colorway’s soft, neutral ivory and taupe tones perfectly complement any interior.”
 
In Vegas, Capel Rugs also will be showing a variety of other new rugs that made their debut earlier this year. They include Persia, a 100% hand tufted wool collection with two classic traditional patterns; and Vestige, a 100% wool hand knot with a traditional, Persian inspired design. In addition, three new colorways have been added to Charise.
 
To encourage customers to place orders at market, Capel Rugs is offering a special “draw for your discount” promotion. The promotion offers discounts of up to 50% off the standard price of all new rug orders placed at market.
