Cort Furniture Donates Over $1 Million to National Non-Profit

Entryway, a national nonprofit dedicated to ending homelessness through employment in the multifamily housing industry, is proud to celebrate a major milestone in its partnership with CORT Furniture Rental. Since June 2025, CORT’s in-kind contributions of home furnishings and housewares donations to Entryway participants will exceed $1 million in value.

Since the start of the partnership in 2017, CORT has provided furnishings and housewares essentials to those exiting homelessness through Entryway’s career and housing program. These donations ensure that participants have more than a roof — they have a real, livable, and welcoming space to call home.

“We are incredibly grateful for CORT’s partnership and generosity,” said David Williams, CEO of Entryway. “They understand that true transformation happens when people are supported not just with a job and a lease, but with dignity, comfort, and community. Together, we’ve helped more than 1,000 individuals and family members take meaningful steps forward.”

At its core, Entryway believes that housing and employment are not endpoints — they are starting points. The organization provides a proven, people-first solution to homelessness that connects individuals with stable housing, comprehensive training, and career opportunities in the multifamily housing industry.

Since its founding in 2014, Entryway has placed over 500 individuals into long-term careers — from maintenance technicians to leasing consultants and property managers - resulting in over 1,000 individuals and their family members transitioning out of homelessness. In 2021, the organization began expanding its program to new markets with Entryway currently operating in 14 cities. CORT’s contributions play a vital role in that journey, often representing the final, critical layer of support that allows a participant’s apartment to truly feel like home.

“CORT is proud to stand with Entryway in their mission to end homelessness through employment,” said Paula Newell, Chief Operating Officer at CORT. “We know how important it is for people to feel a sense of security and belonging. Our team is honored to contribute in a way that makes homes livable — not just functional.”

Homelessness continues to be a challenging crisis in America and Entryway offers a coordinated, long-term solution to help reduce those numbers. When businesses, property managers, and community leaders come together, homelessness can be addressed not with temporary fixes, but with permanent pathways to stability. The organization invites other businesses to follow the example CORT has set bringing their resources, networks, and purpose into alignment for meaningful impact.

As the partnership between Entryway and CORT enters a new chapter, both organizations remain committed to the same goal: restoring dignity and opportunity — one home, one career, and one family at a time.
