Coaster Fine Furniture Promotes Mindy Leitwein to GM of National Accounts

Coaster Fine Furniture, a leading North American furniture distributor, has promoted Mindy Leitwein to general manager of national accounts and business development, a newly created role for the company.

Leitwein, who joined Coaster last year, previously served as national accounts manager. In her new position she assumes responsibility for developing additional channels of business, driving revenue growth, and providing leadership and strategic support to its independent sales contractors nationwide. She will focus on optimizing sales territories, recruiting talent, and developing high-performing teams. She will also continue to manage both national and regional key accounts, as well as buying groups.

Leitwein reports to Crystal Nguyen, vice president of merchandise and strategic product planning at Coaster.

“In less than a year with Coaster, Mindy  has demonstrated the tenacity, passion for sales and a strategic mindset that make her the ideal leader for this new role,” said  Nguyen. “Her dedication to driving performance and her commitment to supporting our independent contractors has made a significant impact. This is a well-deserved promotion.”

Leitwein began her career as a major account executive with her family’s rep firm and ultimately took over the business, calling on mass merchants and big box stores. At its height, she managed a $50 million budget and grew key accounts by 20 percent year over year.

Later, as a vice president of Powell Furniture, Leitwein managed key accounts across seven states, and was responsible for both brick-and-mortar stores and pure-play eCommerce sites, where she drove 200 percent sales growth for partners through effective pricing, promotion, sku management and compliance initiatives which reduced chargebacks and boosted profitability.

Leitwein received her master’s degree in business administration from Ohio State University and her bachelor’s degree  from Earlham College. She was recently honored at the Withit WOW event as a finalist for its  sales excellence award.

She resides in Columbus, Ohio with her family.
