King Koil and Boys & Girls Club of Central Florida Team-Up for Disney Trip for Kids

Leading mattress manufacturer King Koil recently joined with the Boys & Girls Club of Central Florida to sponsor 90 children for an evening of fun and exploration at Disney’s Epcot Center in Orlando.

The children ranged in age from 6 to 11 years old, and while they reside in the Orlando area, most had never visited the park before. They had the opportunity to experience the various rides and experiences, enjoy the live entertainment, see fireworks and have dinner.

“The program gives kids the best experience possible. Most of them are first timers so this means a lot to them. It is the most fun place on earth,” said Nicco Palmero, regional director of the Boys and Girls Club of Central Florida. “We are grateful to King Koil for making this special experience available to our children. It really means a lot to us and the children.”

The program was a featured part of a leading annual meeting for mattress and home furnishings retail executives. Nearly 30 executives from King Koil and other companies in the industry participated.

“I look forward to doing something for the kids every year. It’s all about the kids and bringing smiles to their faces. I am thrilled that King Koil has the opportunity to do this,” said David Binke, chief executive officer of King Koil.

King Koil has been sponsoring charitable events like this one for many years in different parts of the country.

“We believe that while we gather for this annual conference to discuss the most pressing issues affecting our industry and learn from one another, we also need to be mindful of those less fortunate,” he added. “I am a firm believer that we all have a responsibility to do good where we can, both as individuals and as corporate citizens.”

Indeed, King Koil has long supported charitable organizations that benefit children, often in conjunction with major annual bedding industry events. Past programs have included trips to Disney and a “Drive to Thrive” afternoon at the iconic Phoenix International Raceway, a mile-long track more typically used during the NASCAR circuit races.
