IIDA and the IIDA Foundation are pleased to announce Rochelle Porter, CEO and Creative Director of Rochelle Porter Design, as the recipient of the 2025 Anna Hernandez/Luna Textiles Award. This annual award honors a woman business owner making valuable contributions to the design industry.
“Porter embodies the spirit of leadership and innovation that Anna Hernandez envisioned for women in our industry.” said IIDA Executive Vice President and CEO Cheryl S. Durst, Hon. FIIDA. “Her work is not only a testament to her entrepreneurial abilities, but also a deep commitment to her values that define impactful, lasting design.”
A lifelong lover of global design traditions, the Atlanta-based artist takes cues from her Caribbean roots, the stark simplicity of Scandinavian design, and West African weaving techniques to create luxury wallpaper and vibrant accessories for commercial and residential interiors. Her patterns feature unexpected bursts of color and classic motifs with a fresh, modern twist.
Porter aims to infuse joy into everyday objects, making even the mundane extraordinary. She believes everyone who interacts with her products should experience abundance and beauty, from the production team to the end user. In addition, she prioritizes sustainability, ethical manufacturing, and the use of organic materials when possible. Rochelle Porter Design is also a certified Woman-Owned Business.
This year’s entries were reviewed by a committee of interior design industry professionals including Kimball International Vice President, A&D, Michelle Boolton, Ind. IIDA; CI Group President Gilbert Broco, IIDA, CDF; Stantec Associate, Senior Interior Designer Jill Dexter, IIDA; Danika and Company President Danika Leeks, Ind. IIDA; Edwards + Mulhausen Interior Design Senior Interior Designer Krystal Lucero, IIDA. Porter was also bestowed $5,000 from the IIDA Foundation in addition to her official honor and recognition.
Porter will be celebrated during IIDA’s 2025 Annual Meeting on June 8 at the WorkLife Meetings at The Mart, 222 W. Merchandise Mart Plaza, Chicago. The event will also be available to view via live stream on IIDA’s YouTube channel (@IIDA_hq).
