Coaster Fine Furniture Unveils Modern Minimalist Gallery

Coaster Fine Furniture, a leading North American furniture distributor, is unveiling Modern Minimalist at the High Point Market, a new themed gallery with 30-plus new pieces, spotlighting its new Leandro Collection, a Coaster exclusive design.

Imported from Vietnam, and defined by striking shapes, rich textures and cleanliness, the collection is designed to deliver affordable luxury with a structural and well-tailored approach for a bold, yet refined look. Inspired by a fusion of brutalist architecture and contemporary minimalism, it is a modern take on the brutalism trend currently influencing fashion, interior design, and pop culture (“The Brutalist” took home five Academy Awards at the 2025 Oscars), softening the traditionally stark aesthetic by blending raw materials with warmth.

“Masterfully balancing function and form, Modern Minimalism is characterized by bold shapes and solid wood, and in line with brutalism’s architectural roots, prioritizes function over excess ornamentation,” said Coaster’s Vice President of Merchandising and Strategic Planning Crystal Nguyen. “Our interpretation emphasizes multi-purpose furniture and modular seating solutions with textural contrasts between hard industrial surfaces and soft, inviting textiles like boucle and plush fabrics in upholstery and accent seating.”

Bedroom and dining furnishings pair a burnished deep brown-black Sherwin Williams wood finish reminiscent of coffee beans with crisp lines and compound curves.

The bedroom group (suggested retail $4,449 for a king five-piece set) features a statement bed with a substantial shelter-style headboard upholstered in a cream chenille fabric, and substantive, wrap-around side rails. All of the large-scale cases are designed for maximum storage and are rendered in solid Asian hardwood with ash veneer, and are set apart by understated architectural profiles, radius corners and floating bases. Drawers offer English dovetail construction front and back; top drawers are felt-lined, and all offer 45 mm soft-closing metal glides for durability and smooth operation. Other thoughtful details: recharging ports and LED lights in the nightstands, and a floor mirror.

The dining group (suggested retail $3,399 for a nine-piece set) is built around a large 100-inch-long table with an oblong shaped top with an extra thick edge profile that easily accommodates up to eight chairs. Its Craftsman construction details are elevated further by equalizing metal cable glides that make it easy to open and close when entertaining with just one hand. (A 60-inch table is also available). Side chairs upholstered in cream fabric have ergonomic curved backs shaped for comfort, and the collection’s comfortable armchairs nod to mid-century modern swank with bent plywood and deep curved backs. The collection server amps up storage with two drawers over three doors hiding adjustable internal shelves.

View the entire Leandro Collection in the Modern Minimalist Gallery on the first floor of the Coaster Fine Furniture showroom, 111 East Commerce Ave, High Point.
