Century Announces Product Introductions for HPMKT

Century, a leader in luxury furniture design, announces a series of highly anticipated product introductions and engaging events at the upcoming High Point Furniture Market, running from April 24 - 30. Century will debut an array of new collections, including Monterey, a fresh, casual modern collection, and a major expansion of its best-selling Cornerstone series in addition to new product from design partners Thomas O’Brien and Carrier and Company.

New Product Launches

Century is excited to introduce Monterey, a relaxed, casual modern collection that blends clean lines and natural materials. Crafted from oak solids and veneers and featuring a mappa burl inlay on most pieces, the collection is offered in two stunning finishes, Hawthorne Light and Hawthorne Dark. The occasional is of particular interest with bronze metal accents and a honed travertine used throughout to create a more curated mix of materials. The Monterey collection offers laid-back elegance, emphasizing simplicity, comfort, and versatility.

In addition, Cornerstone, Century’s best-selling and extensively customizable upholstery collection, sees an exciting update with new pieces and expanded options. The first major expansion of this renowned upholstery offering in over twelve years, these new introductions retain the collection’s signature craftsmanship while adding more updated options for designers and homeowners to incorporate Cornerstone into their homes. This major introduction includes multiple new bases and arm styles, seat and back cushion options, as well as new forms making Cornerstone one of the largest customizable upholstery series in the industry.

The company will also showcase new pieces in collaboration with Thomas O'Brien and Carrier and Company, designers renowned for their unique perspectives on modern luxury. These large introductions include an array of occasional, dining and upholstery additions.

Cocktails and Conversations at Century

Continuing its tradition of fostering connections and inspiring design dialogue and education, Century will host its popular Cocktails and Conversations series each afternoon at 4pm during market. This market the events will focus on continuing education for the majority of the evenings with one exception. Starting on April 26 at 4pm, Century’s newest design partner, Tara Shaw, will host a Meet &Greet and Book Signing which will be followed by Century’s Market Celebration Party from 5pm-7pm.

April 27, features a Continuing Education Unit (CEU) seminar presented by Sunbrella, offering attendees valuable insights into innovative fabric technology and design trends. On April 28, Century’s VP of Manufacturing, Keith Nichols, will host a CEU session titled “Design Embellishments,” a class that explores the techniques and steps for case goods enhancements such as leafing, dry brushing and striping. Century’s continuing education courses will end on April 29, with a presentation titled “Fabric to Frame.” Exploring the relationship between fabric selection, yardage requirements and frame construction in fine furniture design this CEU is one every designer should attend to learn more about fabric yields in custom upholstery.

Market Celebration Party

Century will also host a Market Celebration Party on April 26 from 5-7pm, inviting guests to unwind and celebrate the start of the market with a taste of California. The event will feature wine tasting, light bites, and an opportunity to connect with fellow industry professionals.
