RW Collective Plans "Viva La Masquerade" Benefit at HPMKT

The RW Collective, a one-stop, to-the-trade resource for retailers and designers, is hosting a one-of-kind of charity event—“Viva La Masquerade”—on opening night of the Spring High Point Market, April 26, from 5 to 8 p.m. The exclusive event benefits Harlan’s Place Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to adults with Down syndrome and intellectual disabilities.

Staged at The RW Collective showroom, located at 156 S. Main Street in High Point,
“Viva La Masquerade” invites guests to indulge in casino games, a silent auction of unique, easy-to-transport items, gourmet small bites, signature cocktails, and live music and entertainment, all in support of a powerful mission. Admission is free to all registered Market attendees, but RSVP is required, and tickets must be reserved in advance: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/viva-la-masquerade-tickets-1286657550369.

“This event is about making an impact. Every bid, every sip, and every moment of the celebration is devoted to building a future where everyone has a chance to thrive,” said Michael Carey, chief executive officer of The RW Collective, and founder of Harlan’s Place Foundation. The non-profit is seeking funding to build independent living communities with thoughtfully designed spaces that empower residents to live fulfilling, enriched lives through holistic support, vocational training and inclusive community living. The first facility is set for Santa Rosa Beach, FL, with plans are to establish similar communities across the country.

“Our story is one of love, hope and dedication to creating a bright future for our beloved son, Harlan,” Carey said. “Our journey began with a simple, yet profound desire: to ensure that Harlan, who has Down syndrome, can lead an independent life in an environment that mirrors the opportunities available to individuals without disabilities.”

According to Carey, the special Market event is being made possible through the generous support of multiple sponsors, including Leftbank Art, Padma’s Plantation, Southern Sky Home, Metropolitan Warehouse & Delivery, Universal Cargo, Atelier Home, Jes & Gray Living, Beyond Borders and Threads Republic among them.

“As the premier destination for home furnishings industry, High Point Market brings together design visionaries and industry leaders from across the globe. By hosting “Viva La Masquerade” in this dynamic setting, The RW Collective, Harlan’s Place Foundation and the event sponsors aim to inspire meaningful conversations and foster long-term partnerships that go beyond the showroom floor,” Carey said.

Harlan’s Place is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, offering tax-deductible gifts and donations. There are several ways to get involved and support the cause: attend the event, bid in the auction, or simply donate. To learn more, visit  harlansplace.org/viva-la-masquerade.
