Meridian Furniture, a fast-growing furniture brand serving retailers and designers with an ever-changing product line of affordably priced, high-style designs, is expanding its growing portfolio of popular outdoor offerings at the Spring High Point Market this season, appealing to buyers with distinctive seating collections and trend-forward indoor-outdoor concrete tables (IHFC Space C-403).
“With renewed interest in the brutalist architecture movement, more designers than ever are appreciating the durable functionality and indoor-outdoor qualities of concrete tables,” said Michael Rosilio, president of Meridian Furniture. “Not only does the material amp up the sustainability factor, but the material also makes it easy for them to visually connect indoor spaces with the outdoors, an increasingly important factor in home design.”
Among a dozen new concrete silhouettes in bold geometric shapes available in multiple colors this Market are the Tivoli and the Sassari. The two Art Deco-inspired indoor/outdoor concrete coffee tables—Tivoli in a luxe beige travertine finish and Sassari in a faux brown marble finish—are designed to weather the elements in ways that natural stone simply cannot. The Consenza indoor-outdoor concrete dining table in a travertine finish is another Art Deco design. Available in two sizes, 78” and 96”, the dining tables are set to retail from $1,199 to $1,999.
Continuing its focus on teak finished aluminum designs, Meridian is also unveiling seating collections inspired by the romance of the Mediterranean coast. Among these, San Pietro incorporates polypropylene rope as a design element with a twist. Combined with a natural teak finish aluminum frame and plush, waterproof seat cushions, the collection encompasses a sofa, love and chair available in beige and cream, all sold separately. Suggested retails range from $1,999 for the sofa to $899 for the chair.
Also, on deck in outdoor seating this season is the Laguna modular sectional which showcases Meridian’s contemporary aesthetic, and Portofino, a collection of sophisticated matte black aluminum frames with dramatic, scalloped edges, topped with waterproof upholstered bolster cushions in a choice of cream or off-white. A coordinating coffee table is also available.
“Portofino is a perfect example of what sets us apart in outdoor furniture,” Rosilio said. “The outdoor category is an important element to our whole home story as a one-stop shop for designers, stagers, and retailers. We don’t do the ubiquitous rattan/wicker looks available at big-box home centers that saturate today’s marketplace.
Our designs are a little bit more fun and elevated and cannot be found anywhere else. Additionally, our teak-finished aluminum frames are commercial grade for durability and easy care because we know most consumers want to spend more time enjoying their outdoor spaces than maintaining them.”
