David Collins Studio and Promemoria Announce Second Collaboration

David Collins Studio, award winning interior designers and Promemoria, Italian luxury furniture manufacturer announce their second collaboration, The London Collection - Act II.

Following the first London Collection launched in Sept 2015, the latest collaboration between the brands has reignited the creative dialogue and is a natural continuation in their collaborative relationship. Born of a conversation between Promemoria founder Romeo Sozzi and the team at David Collins Studio, the latest designs have been developed using a combination of natural tactile materials and a carefully distilled colour palette.

The London Collection - Act II employs a The gentle palette of neutral tones, soft blush, muted greens and delicate lilacs of The London Collection - Act II are in contrast to the original collection, and the tactile complimented by decorative stitched details have been chosen to convey a sense of lightness and refinement.

Focus also falls on multifunctionality; a key consideration that informed the design process from the beginning. Flexible pieces include a trio of nesting tables, modular sofa and adaptable desk, all of which are intended for use in multiple residential settings.

Manufactured by an expert team of artisans in Promemoria HQ, overlooking Lake Como, the exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail results in a quality and finish that remains unmatched. The 2015 collection was named in honour of David Collins’ affection for London’s garden squares. The 2025 designs take their names from London’s many architecturally significant bridges that span the River Thames.

“This collaboration brings together the British sensibility of our London-based studio with the Italian design excellence of Promemoria. It is a fascinating and highly creative process, continually refining and developing the designs as we build the collection,” says Lewis Taylor, design director of David Collins Studio. “It was important for the new pieces to be an extension of the previous collection. Certain design details have been carried through, honoring the past whist reflecting contemporary living. This means that you can combine pieces from across the collections."

Romeo Sozzi, founder of Promemoria says, “I'm very happy to have renewed our wonderful collaboration with David Collins Studio in London, a bond that began ten years ago with the studio's founder [David Collins], a man I have always admired. Our first collaboration was a unique experience for me, an opportunity for growth and exchange with one of the brightest minds in the design world. Today, it is an honour to continue this journey with the new generation, with Lewis, a young and talented designer who, despite the generational gap, has established a dynamic and stimulating working relationship... It has been exciting to work together, bringing to life a collection that tells the story of the fusion of these two universes.”

THE PIECES

CHISWICK MODULAR SOFA - Taking inspiration from early 20th century and Art Deco designs, Chiswick is a modular sofa that can be configured to suit any space. Featuring gently curved arm rests in textured light oak veneer with a neat, integrated shelf in leather, the cushions are upholstered in a selection of linen and bouclé fabrics. Ottoman and chaise components alongside a standalone coordinating armchair are also available.

KEW LOVE SEAT - The Kew Love Seat plucks key elements from the previous London Collection and reinvents them for the now. With a light brushed oak frame and natural wool bouclé upholstery, distinctive oval bolster cushions are recessed into the upholstered seat, creating an intimate cosseted atmosphere.

FULHAM CHAISE LONGUE - A sister piece to the Kew Love seat, the Fulham Chaise features the same refined, textured oak frame and natural wool bouclé upholstery, but takes the traditional idea of a chaise longue and creates a contemporary interpretation that marries proportion, precision, and comfort.

BARNES DINING CHAIR - The visual lightness of the Barnes Dining Chair belies the complexity of its construction. A stitched leather seat pad ‘floats’ above the textured oak frame supported on small bronze pillars, while the back oak framework features a subtle curve that mimics forms found within London’s famous bridges and acts as a handle for easy maneuvering.

WESTMINSTER DINING TABLE - Six elegant fins make up the base of the Westminster Dining Table. The pedestal base design was inspired by the negative space created by a series of triangular forms all pushed together and that reflect the shapes of other pieces in the collection such as the Battersea Nesting tables. Created from bronze this sculptural piece is topped with beautiful, beveled edge glass, which ensures the central pillar remains the star of the show.

PUTNEY ARMCHAIR - The Putney Armchair has a simple silhouette that subtly references the style of the original London range. A smart, stitched leather seat pairs comfortably with timber armrests that hover slightly away from the textured oak frame.

BATTERSEA NESTING TABLES - Crafted from textured oak with a bronze foot detail the trio of nesting tables mark the creation of a future design icon. The set of three tables can be used independently, nested, or grouped to form multiple compositions. The smallest table features an integrated leather shelf in contrasting or complementary colours.

RICHMOND CABINET - The Richmond Cabinet is a key piece in the collection, showcasing the expert craftmanship and quality of Promemoria in a variety of ways. A simple, refined form sits atop bronze feet that raise it above the floor, where integrated lighting gives this important piece a sense of lightness. Crafted from brushed oak the cabinet features an incredible abstract marquetry inspired by the architectural framework of Tower Bridge, using a variety of timber species and colours. Featuring internal lighting, glass shelving and sleek bronze handles.

HAMMERSMITH DESK - Mirroring the same visual language used throughout the collection, the Hammersmith Desk is a practical piece that will sit comfortably as a dining table, writing desk or dressing table. The tabletop comprises of three oak panels of alternating grain direction, with the central section lifting to reveal a leather lined storage compartment, ideal for stowing a laptop or papers at the end of the day.

Iain Watson, the CEO of David Collins Studio says, “The London Collection - Act II brings a new interpretation of the Studio’s eponymous signature line with our much-loved Promemoria. In the Studio’s 40th year [2025], new inspiration comes in the form of natural brushed oak– with luxury and colour added in the bouclé upholstery, bronze and geometric marquetry details. The collection celebrates an obsession with detail and craft shared by both brands.”
