The RW Collective, based in Rockford, Alabama, has acquired the assets of Bauhaus Furniture Group, a strategic move that strengthens its domestic production capabilities and accelerates its vertical integration.
For years, The RW Collective sought the right opportunity to expand U.S. manufacturing, complementing its case goods factory and production in Indonesia. Having already partnered with Bauhaus on the retail and wholesale side, the acquisition was a natural fit—allowing The RW Collective to expand its product offering, reduce lead times, and increase its customization capabilities. With this addition, the company will now domestically produce more categories, such as upholstered beds and dining chairs, with greater efficiency.
“This is an exciting milestone for The RW Collective,” said CEO Michael Carey. “Bringing manufacturing back to the U.S. has been a long-term goal, and Bauhaus presented the perfect opportunity. Their skilled craftsmanship, quality production, and logistics expertise will have an immediate positive impact on our ability to serve customers.”
This acquisition is not just about business growth—it’s also about preserving jobs and investing in the future. On Friday, Bauhaus employees learned they were losing their jobs. By Monday morning, 100% of them were back at work under The RW Collective ownership. While many factories are cutting production, The RW Collective is expanding and hiring.
As part of this commitment, The RW Collective is excited to announce its ongoing commitment to producing the iconic Bauhaus furniture line while working diligently to strengthen its relationships with both current customers and vendors.
This dedication to excellence will ensure that the brand continues to build trust and deliver superior products. The RW Collective will showcase its latest collection at the Spring High Point Market. Attendees are invited to visit The RW Collective showroom at 156 S. Main St., High Point, NC, to experience firsthand the quality and craftsmanship that the brand is known for.
“This acquisition strengthens our position in the industry while reinforcing our commitment to domestic manufacturing,” said COO Rebekah Osborn. “It allows us to build on an already strong foundation and provide a better, faster, and more flexible supply chain for our partners.”
