Shoppe Object, the premier home and gift trade show, concluded its Winter 2025 edition that ran from Feb 2–4, at the historic Starrett-Lehigh Building with record-breaking success. The new location was resoundingly lauded by both attendees and exhibitors as a superior new home for Shoppe Object’s largest-ever show, with over 800 hand-selected brands exhibiting. With its bright, expansive open-concept across the 3rd and 4th floors featuring stunning Hudson River views and a host of on-site amenities, the venue provided an inspiring backdrop that captured the spirit of New York.
The event drew in 30% higher attendance over last season, which was a testament to the new location, expert curation of exhibitors, and ever-growing influence in the design community. Buyers from all 50 States, 35 countries, and 6 continents were more engaged than ever with multi-day attendance increasing by 63% over last year. Regional attendance saw strong expansion as well, with a 16% increase in West Coast attendees and a surge in traffic from the South up 23%. The East Coast market also grew, remaining Shoppe Object’s largest buyer segment, and international attendance climbed steadily, reinforcing the show’s global reach.
“This winter’s Shoppe Object was quite a feat, moving all of our vendors from two locations on the Lower East Side to a brand new venue in West Chelsea that provided us with 30% more exhibition space,” says Jesse James, Founder & Show Director. “We took extreme care in choosing the Starrett-Lehigh building as our new home, with a primary focus on increased convenience while fostering community, connection and opportunity –– all while insisting that a trade show can and should be an inspiring and enjoyable experience for all. We learned so much from this first edition in our new space. The energy and excitement was palpable, and we’re already laser-focused on the Summer show in August, fine-tuning and building upon the excitement and growth that our buyers and brands delivered, right out of the gate.”
Exhibitors and attendees alike praised the Winter 2025 edition for its inviting atmosphere and the ease it brought to networking and discovery. “We love shopping at Shoppe Object,” said Tom Stark, Owner of Array Home store in Santa Fe, NM. “We appreciate the selection and mix of vendors, the show was easy to navigate, and the new location exceeded our expectations.”
“We are so grateful for this show,” said Alex Marshall, Co-owner of Alex Marshall Studios from Chico, CA. “After exhibiting at other shows for over 20 years, this is the show we’ve dreamed of, and I don’t think that we would have returned to the New York market if it didn’t exist. It truly puts all exhibitors on an even playing field, focusing on the product as opposed to massive build outs. I think we had our best show ever! We can’t wait until August.”
A standout community action feature of this year’s show was the Wildfire Relief Chance Auction, which raised nearly $9,000 for Gift For Life, in support of World Central Kitchen’s crucial efforts in Southern California. Shoppe Object also debuted a new collaboration for its Black Lives Matter Action Initiative (BLMAI), with a dedicated section of BLMAI exhibitors curated by The Folklore, shining a spotlight on emerging and established Black-owned brands from around the globe.
Jeff Wallace, honored as Artist of the Season, enchanted the audience with his unique, process-driven art that blends historical techniques with modern expression. His exclusive pieces and limited edition prints became one of the many artistic highlights of the show. Meanwhile, daily live collaging by James Gallagher, alongside curated segments such as The Shoppe Object Global Artisan Project, American Design Club Incubation Space, and NOURISH collection of small-batch beauty and gourmet brands, further showcased the event’s commitment to global craftsmanship and innovative design.
The resounding success of the Winter 2025 show marks a new chapter for Shoppe Object—one defined by an increase in attendance and engagement, groundbreaking collaborations, and an unwavering dedication to fostering meaningful connections. As the show’s organizers celebrate this milestone, they are gearing up for the future, including enhancements for the Shoppe Object Summer 2025 show August 3-5 returning to the Starrett-Lehigh building.
