For over 21 years, employees of the Ashley family of companies (Ashley) have made generous donations to selected charities through the “Dollar a Week” Program. Across the company, employees raised nearly $144,000 in 2024 to be donated to partner organizations including: Ashley’s Angels, Hope to Dream, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital (St. Jude), Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital (Le Bonheur) and Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) and more to help make a difference for those who need it most.
“I can't say enough about how incredible the ‘Dollar a Week’ program is,” stated Cheryl Shaffer, Ashley employee. “My heart absolutely overflows knowing that each week, my small contribution helps bring joy to children through both Ashley's Angels and St. Jude. Such a tiny amount makes such a meaningful difference, and honestly, I feel so joyful by giving.”
Through the “Dollar a Week” program, employees are given the opportunity to elect a weekly donation to several non-profit organizations. This program encourages employees to make a positive impact and enrich the lives of those in the communities in which they work and live. These contributions impact numerous individuals in need, every year. Since inception, Ashley employees have contributed over $2 million through “Dollar a Week.”
In 2024, contributions included:
— $31,596 to St. Jude, which can help cover the cost of 4,157 No More Chemo Parties for patients.
— $9,692 benefiting RMHC, to help provide nearly 97 one-night stays at Ronald McDonald House for patients and their families.
— $30,436 to Le Bonheur, supplying over 100 patients with lifesaving treatments.
— $11,468 benefiting Hope to Dream, providing over 38 children the comfort of a bed to call their own.
— $54,632 to Ashley’s Angels, which will provide food, clothing and special gift requests to children in need during the holiday season.
— $6,161 benefiting miscellaneous non-profit organizations such as Rotary Coats for Kids and more.
“The ‘Dollar a Week’ program exemplifies what makes Ashley special – it is about coming together to make a difference in our communities,” stated Todd Wanek, President and CEO, Ashley Furniture Industries, LLC. “Together, our employees show that small contributions, when combined, can create meaningful change in the lives of those who need it most.”
