S-CAB Introduces an Invitation to A Slower Lifestyle
January 21,
2025 by Karen Parrish in Business Strategy, Designer Weekly, Industry
S-CAB is a company in perpetual motion that makes its research a dynamic engine of innovation. They have chosen to celebrate what too often we end up neglecting today, the pleasure of a slow life.
Slowing down, because we can, to reconnect with the place that welcomes us and feel the time that passes through it. Waiting, to notice that unexpected detail. To savor the encounters that await us.
Through its furniture solutions, S-CAB helps us surrender to the comfort of a suspended moment, arranging the space so that it can accommodate, whether alone or in company, a disconnected break. Whether within the walls of a room or amid the scents and breeze of a garden, S-CAB aims to help us rediscover a personal form of freedom, the one given by the present. Not because tomorrow doesn’t matter, or the past isn’t of value, but because savoring the moment gives us a new perspective–a fresh look at things, at relationships, at a rediscovered sense of beauty.
Brezza's collection includes a sofa, lounge armchair and coffee table by Alessandro Stabile, the modular upholstery collection, Flap by Meneghello Paolelli complete with chaise longue, armchair and pouf, the seats Malvasia by Francesca Lanzavecchia and Mentha by Archirivolto Design, the coffee tables Atomo by Spalvieri & Del Ciotto and Hyppo by Meneghello Paolelli, and the Mimosa vases by Ionna Vautrin.
Brezza ~ Alessandro Stabile
Since 2024, the Brezza outdoor seating family expands with two new pieces, a lounge armchair and a two-seater sofa. Both inherit the production approach of the original, the soft cushions attach to the frame without the need for glue, buttons, zippers, or Velcro, facilitating removable covers and replacement according to a design premise in the name of circularity.
Flap ~ Meneghello Paolelli
The Flap modular upholstered furniture family extends to incorporate three new components, an armchair, a pouf, and a chaise longue. Designed to respond with even more flexibility to both the desire for comfort and the specific characteristics of each space, these pieces allow further articulation and rhythm in seating composition, offering new support surfaces, and multiplying opportunities for arrangement and exchange.
Malvasia ~ Francesca Lanzavecchia
Malvasia is an outdoor seat that projects graceful and straight patterns of lights and shadows through its metal weaves. Despite its apparent simplicity, its design expresses a true production challenge: to extract the backrest and seat from a single perforated and calendared piece and then weld them almost invisibly to the tubular frame. A particularly complex treatment that brings the metal close to its flexibility limit and softens its impenetrable coldness.
Mentha ~ Archirivolto Design
Freshness and eco-friendly comfort. Mentha is a visual homage to nature’s harmonious and appealing forms, where the ecological theme is reflected in a recognizable design: the leaf. In its essential technopolymer version, it is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. The choice of material is just as important as the form: certified recycled plastic, a progressively evolved material increasingly used.
Atomo ~ Spalvieri & Del Ciotto
The Atomo project stems from the need to create a table capable of fitting into any environment and becoming its focal point. Lightweight and sturdy, the aluminum structure consists of a die-cast ground base onto which the legs supporting the top are attached. Every shape detail, such as the refined connection between the base and the tubular elements, responds to an aesthetic research that appropriates the most advanced production technology to outline a balanced and contemporary product in style.
Hyppo ~ Meneghello Paolelli
The result of playful experimentation, the Hyppo coffee-table family is designed for outdoor use but adapts with versatility to indoor spaces. The inspiration, clear even from the name itself, is linked to the morphology of the hippopotamus and is revealed in the design of the aluminum legs, large and sculptural. The contrasting top, made with coloured paste laminate, stands out instead for its thin profile and deliberately irregular contour, reminiscent of the animal’s body.
Mimosa ~ Ionna Vautrin
With a strong graphic impact, ethereal yet generous, this timeless duo of vases recalls both in silhouette and in the play of shades the morphology of a flower in its connection between peduncle and corolla. Suitable for accommodating diverse floral compositions, both rustic and refined, the Mimosa vases enhance the presence of flowers, making them protagonists of our daily lives.
