Two Furniture Related Recalls from CPSC

A dresser from Amazon and an office chair from Office Depot were both recalled for safety concerns. One due to tip-over and entrapment hazards and the other due to fall hazards.
HallyBee 5-drawer Farmhouse Dressers
The HallyBee 5-drawer Farmhouse Dressers, sold exclusively on Amazon.com, are being recalled due to tip-over and entrapment hazards and a violation of the Federal Regulation for Clothing Storage Units. The dressers were sold in two colors: light and dark rustic oak. They measure about 31 inches wide by 16 inches long by 48 inches tall.
The recalled dressers are unstable if they are not anchored to the wall, posing serious tip-over and entrapment hazards that can result in injuries or death to children. The dressers do not comply with the performance requirements of the STURDY Act.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled HallyBee Farmhouse 5 Drawer Dressers if they are not properly anchored to a wall and place them in an area that children cannot access. With a permanent marker write the word recalled on the top and all sides of the dresser. About 122 units were sold on-line from September 2023 through October 2024 for about $210 on Amazon.com. No incidents or injuries were reported.
WorkPro® Momentum Office Chairs
WorkPro® Momentum Office Chairs have been recalled by Veyer due to the fact that the bolts that connect the back of the chair to its base can fail, posing a fall hazard to users.
The recalled ergonomic chairs were sold in black (model number 8517865) or gray (model number 2864384) and have a metal frame, cushioned seat, five coaster wheels and a high back that shifts side-to-side. The model number is located underneath the seat cushion.
About 64,000 units were sold at Office Depot and OfficeMax stores nationwide and online at www.amazon.com, www.officedepot.com, www.walmart.com, www.ebay.com and other websites from October 2021 through September 2024 for about $430.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled chair until repaired and contact Veyer to receive a free repair kit, including shipping, and installation instructions. The repair kit consists of a back bracket, three bolts, an Allen wrench and a decorative cover. Veyer is contacting all known purchasers directly.
Veyer has received seven reports of consumers falling out of the chair, resulting in two minor injuries.
