Hall of Fame architect and interior designer Lauren Rottet, FAIA, FIIDA, and her Rottet Collection have won another coveted GOOD DESIGN® Award bestowed by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
The GOOD DESIGN Awards recognize the top new products annually. Founded in Chicago in 1950 by Eero Saarinen and Charles and Ray Eames, GOOD DESIGN is the oldest and most respected program awarding design excellence worldwide. This year the museum received a record number of submissions from an international roster of top manufacturers and industrial, product and graphic design firms representing the best consumer design from 55 nations.
"I’m excited to begin the new year with this honor and thanks go to this year’s judges for this distinguished recognition," said Rottet, when discussing the win for her range of Beds for Rottet Collection.
The three designs highlight artisan techniques using the finest materials sourced from around the globe. The Essex Bed is a sleek floating wood bed frame wrapped in leather incorporating twin recessed nightstands with downlit mirrored glass cavities that create a warm ambience, while the Baldwin Bed was conceived with a padded leather headboard with integrated support pillows held by detailed metal accents and built-in side tables with integrated power outlets. Lastly the Aspen Bed, with a curved leather frame was envisioned as a cozy nest with an optional decorative headboard encased in metal with integrated power outlets and complementary matching nightstands. All are also available with COM/COL customization.
The Rottet Collection including select beds can be viewed by appointment only at the New York Showroom, 29 West 30th St., 6th Floor. Contact: Kyle Rottet, Director, Rottet Collection, orders@rottetcollection.com.
