Family-owned and operated for 72 years, Comeaux Furniture, Appliance & Mattress announced it is going out of business and will begin total liquidation of its showroom and warehouse on Jan 16.
Michael Comeaux, president and owner of Comeaux Furniture, Appliance & Mattress, plans to retire after closing the doors of his family’s business which has been a staple in the New Orleans community since 1953. Leading furniture promotional sales specialists Planned Furniture Promotions (PFP) is handling the going-out-of-business sale details and events.
“It is a great honor to support the Comeaux family in closing this chapter and celebrating such an incredible legacy,” said Tom Liddell, senior vice president of PFP.
Sterling “Buddy” Comeaux opened his first furniture and appliance store in a 400-square-foot store at 906 City Park Ave. in New Orleans. After five years of rapid success, the company outgrew its small space and moved into a 58,000-square-foot location in Metairie.
Here, the Comeaux family established its business as a premiere one-stop-shop for whole home furnishings. In 2007, Comeaux Furniture, Appliance, & Mattress opened an additional 200,000-square-foot warehouse with an outlet store and clearance center in New Orleans.
Comeaux Furniture, Appliance & Mattress will begin total liquidation sales on January 16 at its two stores in Metairie and New Orleans. Both store buildings are for sale and interested parties may contact Michael Comeaux at (504) 831-1365. For more information on the final liquidation sale, visit www.GeauxComeaux.com.
