Meridian Furniture Introduces Solution to Expedite QC

Meridian Furniture has launched a proprietary software solution that enables quality control issues to be identified at “lightning” speed so they can be rectified quickly, rather than taking months as is the case in much of the industry. The new tool immediately identifies a quality control issue when it is reported and then escalates the matter quickly so that executives can investigate further and act fast to resolve.
Since Meridian Furniture stocks more than 12,000 SKUs at any given time that are sourced from multiple international manufacturers, quality control issues in many cases are as simple as missing a foot cap on a dining chair or a packaging matter. Rather than waiting for consumers or retailers to report the problem, then having someone manually track trends and only then look for solutions, the new technology solution enables the management team to more quickly see if a problem is an anomaly or something more systemic that it will resolve before further product is shipped.
“Our goal is to assure at every step that our customer experience is exceptional, and for every customer opening a box from Meridian Furniture to be the happiest they could be because the product is exactly what they expected,” said Yair “Jerry” Cabessa, chief technology officer of the fast-growing furniture brand who developed the proprietary software.
Cabessa has created many innovative technology solutions during his long tenure with the company enabling it to not only be a leader in eCommerce, but also tackling inventory management, logistics and now quality control to give the company a competitive advantage.
“Now, we are able to cut the time it takes to identify, act on and resolve a problem to less than five days. That’s imperative in today’s marketplace because everyone is moving faster than ever in today’s business environment. Retailers and interior designers can’t afford for vendors to have quality issues that delay deliveries and projects, and they absolutely don’t want to have to let a customer or client know there’s been a problem of any kind for any reason. In implementing this new quality control software solution, our goal is to make everybody’s business headache free,” he added.
