With the presidential election just weeks away, Dayton-based Morris Furniture Company wants to give away $7.5 million in furniture and mattresses to encourage record voting in this year’s presidential election.
“The 2024 presidential election is one of the most talked about in United States history,” says Morris Furniture Company Chairman, Larry Klaben. “Record turnout is expected throughout the country, and we want to reward Dayton, Cincinnati, Columbus and Northern Kentucky shoppers when voters in Ohio cast their vote for the office of President on or before November 5th.”
Klaben continued, “Record spending on the presidential election in key battleground states has raised awareness of this election. Ohio’s senate race has become one of the most expensive in US history as both parties encourage voters to vote for their candidate in the upcoming election."
Shoppers who make a minimum qualifying purchase of $998 on furniture, mattresses, and accessories from Oct 15 through 9 p.m. on Nov 4 at Morris Home Furniture & Mattress, Ashley, Morris Outlet, Ashley Outlets, Better Sleep Shops or at morrisathome.com will get their purchase free if at least 6.4 million voters cast a vote by mail or in-person in Ohio for the Nov 4 presidential election.
"This will be one of the most important elections in recent times,” said Manny Sciberras, Morris Furniture Company President/CEO. “Record turnout is once again expected, so we thought this promotion would be a great way to encourage people to vote.”
More details about this promotion are available in store showrooms and on the Morris website at www.MorrisAtHome.com, including a list of participating locations. No purchase is required with complete rules posted in all Morris Furniture Company showrooms.
Founded in Dayton in 1947, Morris Furniture Company operates Morris Home Furniture & Mattress, Ashley, Better Sleep Shop, Morris Outlet & Ashley Outlet retail showrooms throughout Dayton, Cincinnati, Columbus, and Northern Kentucky.
In 2015, the company awarded more than $1.5 million in free furniture to lucky shoppers, thanks to Ohio State Buckeyes winning the College Football Playoff National Championship by more than seven points.
The Brookings Institution, a nonprofit public policy organization, recently cited a Pew Research Center survey that provides evidence that turnout this November will be massive and that states will be challenged to complete timely counts of a record number of mail-in ballots, the company said.
Morris Furniture is seeing an increasing number of customers looking to upgrade their home furnishings since the pandemic. They are in their homes with their furniture and realizing, ‘I need to upgrade my home because I’m spending more time in here.’ This is a great opportunity for customers to potentially get their furniture free.
