Popular lifestyle brand Trisha Yearwood Home is entering the youth bedroom category at the Fall HPMKT here with the introduction of Today’s Traditions Youth Collection by casegoods major Legacy Classic | Modern.
After creating multiple whole home furniture collections over the last 10 years, first with licensee Klaussner and now with Legacy, Yearwood has entered the youth market with a version of her top-selling adult Today’s Tradition Collection. The group features timeless Shaker details and Hickory and Blacksmith finishes over Oak and Hardwood. “With the retail success of Today’s Traditions, I felt it easily transitioned to youth furniture,” Yearwood said. “I’m really excited to enter a new category and have always loved the thought of having a kid’s line. Since Legacy is a leader in the youth category, it just makes sense.”
With both Shaker and Farmhouse influences, the 44-piece collection offers timeless, yet fresh styling and pieces include twin and full 4-poster beds, twin and full panel beds, a twin-over-twin and twin-over-full bunk bed. All pieces are available in both the softly distressed and burnished Hickory finish and the clean black finish with some grain highlighting.
Noting that “The customer is still out there for youth and teens,” Legacy President Chris Pelcher said that the company’s retail partners who are committed to the category believe that youth is an important part of the assortment a furniture shopper expects to find in a brick and mortar furniture store. “A fabulous brand like Trisha Yearwood makes youth even more compelling,” he said.
Both Yearwood and Pelcher stressed that the Today’s Traditions Youth is designed to grow with your child up into teen and even early adult years, and can easily be used in a guest room, second bedroom or even vacation home. “The key to developing groups in this category is to create something that can be used in a kid’s room and easily transitioned into a guest bedroom. Our line is packed with collections like this, and Trisha Yearwood’s new collection epitomizes this philosophy,” Pelcher said.
The collection is expected to ship in the first quarter of 2025. Both finishes perform well on the adult side, and most retailers show it mixed.
