Common Thread for the Cure Unites Industry at HPMKT

As the design and furnishings industry prepares for its busiest season, several organizations are joining forces to support The Common Thread for the Cure Foundation. During the upcoming High Point Fall Market, taking place Oct.26-30, key industry partners will host a variety of fundraising events and awareness campaigns to shine a pink spotlight on the cause, including raffles, giveaways, and special events.

The Common Thread for the Cure’s mission is to unite the design and furnishings industry in the battle against breast cancer. By working together as an industry, The Foundation enables individuals confronting breast cancer to maintain as normal a life as possible, offering confidential grants to those in the industry— and their families— who are fighting the disease.

Among the standout events is FurnitureDealer.net’s Chippin’ Dippin’ & Pink Margarita Sippin’ event, where attendees can enjoy tacos and specialty drinks while participating in a 50-50 raffle, and pink lamp giveaway— to raise awareness and funds for The Common Thread for the Cure.

Hickory Chair is also getting involved, raffling a beautifully designed wing chair upholstered in a soft pink antique velvet fabric with proceeds directly benefiting the organization. The chair will be on display in the company’s new showroom at 200 N. Hamilton, where guests can scan a QR code for an opportunity to win.

From Oct. 15 through Nov. 20, donations for a chance to win the chair will also be available on The Common Thread for the Cure website here.

In addition, the International Home Furnishings Representative Association (IHFRA) has generously invited representatives from The Common Thread for the Cure to share their mission and raise awareness among sales professionals from across the industry during the IHFRA Awards Gala also taking place during market.

On Oct. 27, members of the foundation’s public relations and marketing team, The Media Matters, will be on the lookout for market attendees wearing pink, rewarding them with pink desk lamps to further spread the word.

“The events taking place during High Point Fall Market not only highlight the commitment of the design and furnishings industry to support those who are impacted by breast cancer but also encourage a sense of community and solidarity,” said Rob Mayer, Board Chairman. “We are very grateful to these organizations for their meaningful activities and contributions to our fundraising efforts and for their help in raising awareness about the vital work being done for individuals and their families in the industry we all love.”

With the support of companies like FurnitureDealer.net, Hickory Chair, and IHFRA, The Common Thread for the Cure continues to make a meaningful impact in the fight against breast cancer.
