Hooker Furniture Introduces Three Collections at HPMKT

As Hooker Furniture adopts a new merchandising direction focusing on consumer lifestyles and premier materials and finishes, the company is introducing three whole home case good collections at the fall High Point Market.

Archives, a neo-traditional group, marries classic styling with modern design approaches, while the Westwood collection offers a soft modern appeal. Additionally, Banyon Bay features transitional pieces ideal for a casual, modern lifestyle. Each collection has its own take on modern luxury, designed to work in a variety of homes across numerous geographic locations.

The company is also revamping its Commerce & Market and Mélange accent lines. Mélange will now be merchandised in three personas, simplifying the shopping experience for its customers. Commerce & Market is evolving into a more sophisticated accent line targeting the younger consumer and interior designer, focusing on fashion forward pieces that make the home fun and playful, while maintaining the casual lifestyle.

Highlights of the new whole home collections include:

  • Archives: Archives taps into a design trend that mixes modern, trending styles with historic elements. Complementing a variety of design styles with timeless forms and elements, the collection creates a sense of undeniable luxury. Layering rich and authentic materials, such as figured walnut veneers, top grain leather, woven raffia, and polished marble, Archives’ 37-piece assortment speaks to consumers who yearn for structured elegance with a dash of mystery.

  • Westwood: The Westwood group is characterized by its understated elegance and minimalist aesthetic. Each of the 31 pieces in this whole home collection easily transforms any space into an elegant haven of serenity and style. Standout design elements in the Westwood collection include silver-leaf decor in a Venetian Dawn finish, custom hardware in a plated Radiance finish and a variety of performance fabrics.

  • Banyon Bay: Developed with an eclectic mindset, Banyon Bay is a youthful, modern collection combining precise geometry and gentle contours to be the perfect fit for a casual lifestyle that moves effortlessly between urban, coastal, and mountain settings. The 21-piece collection features both stainless steel accents and custom pierced bar-pull hardware in a soft Brushed Brass finish, Honed Egyptian marble in a parchment tone with natural veining accents, and a variety of performance fabrics and leathers.

The three groups feature unique materials to create styles that resonate with a vast array of consumers. Archives features figured walnut veneers in swirl, cathedral, quartered, and split heart cuts in a Classic Walnut finish paired with a unique Mottled Amber faux-tortoise shell accent finish. Westwood features quartered oak veneers in a Polished Limestone finish, while Banyon Bay is crafted with white oak veneers and solids in a multi-step Desert Oak finish featuring light wire-brushing and cerusing.

“We’re putting a tremendous emphasis on materials and finishes with our groups moving forward with a focus on more unique veneer selections paired with mixed materials and custom hardware,” says Jeff Behmer, Executive Vice President of Merchandising for Hooker Furnishings. ““The collections have personality, but at same time are very livable, comfortable and functional in a variety of interiors.

“Our merchandising strategy is focusing on a consumer lifestyle approach, including our Mélange and Commerce & Market accent lines that we are also integrating with our whole home collections,” he added. “You’ll see a transformation take place in our showroom this Market.”

Drawing influences from fashion and jewelry, Mélange will be merchandised in three personas this fall:

  • The Traditionalist: The Traditionalist persona blends timeless design with a touch of nostalgia, evoking the refined elegance of a polished past. Rich textures, deep finishes, and luxurious materials combine to create an inviting, yet sophisticated atmosphere.

  • The Modernist: The Modernist represents bold simplicity and daring expression, with clean lines and statement pieces that captivate with their minimalistic, yet impactful presence. Designs feature unique geometric forms, stark contrasts, and cutting-edge details that offer streamlined, yet dynamic artistic expression in a variety of spaces.

  • The Naturalist: Earthy elegance and serene designs define the Naturalist persona, which draws from organic textures, nature-inspired tones, and soft, muted finishes. This style evokes a peaceful and grounded environment, where modern design meets rustic influence. Natural woods, calming hues, and refined simplicity combine to deliver a soothing sanctuary, balancing luxury with an understated connection to the outdoors.

Rooted in a blend of fashion, home aesthetics, and travel, while delivering a curated lifestyle, highlights of the Commerce & Market personalities are:

  • Coastal: Pieces feature a light and airy color palette with design inspiration from the sea and sky.

  • Boho: A mix of eclectic elements and vibrant colors combine with inspiration from different cultures and time periods.

  • Organic Modern: Pieces are characterized by unique shapes and layers of natural materials including stone, travertine, and linen.

The new collections and items will be on display at the Fall High Point Market in Hooker Furnishings’ showroom, located on the third floor of Showplace.
