Tepperman’s, one of Canada’s leading home furnishings retailers, is proud to announce the promotion of Masoud Negad as Chief Executive Officer, the first non-family member to lead the company since its founding in 1925.
“I am confident that Masoud’s leadership will take Tepperman’s to new heights” said Andrew Tepperman, 3rd generation “while staying true to the values that have defined us as the best place to work and shop for nearly a century.”
Masoud joined Tepperman's in 1987 after emigrating from Iran through India to Sault Ste. Marie, Canada where he began as a Chef and eventually moved to Chatham as a restaurant Manager. Listening to the laughter and stories of Chatham Tepperman's employees at the restaurant moved him to apply for a selling position which he performed at the highest level.
Masoud was promoted to management within a few years, his career highlights include:
1991 promoted to Sarnia General Manager
1995 relocated to Windsor, Ontario, promoted to Appliance and Electronics Buyer
2005 earned his MBA while concurrently at Tepperman’s
2011 promoted to Director of Supply Chain
2012 promoted to VP of Operations and Supply Chain, joined the Executive Team
2016 promoted to Chief Operating Officer
2018 earned his Doctorate in Business Administration while concurrently at Tepperman’s
2024 appointed to Chief Executive Officer
Masoud, as the CEO, leads a team of 7 Vice-Presidents, operating in 7 markets under the Tepperman's and Outlet at Tepperman's brands. He is responsible for the overall direction of the company, including growth, risk mitigation, decision making and culture.
"It's an honour to be able to promote a 36-year highly intelligent and passionate veteran into the CEO position", stated Andrew Tepperman, executive chairman. "His background, life and industry experiences, strong regard for the company's Mission, Vision and Values, and a proven track record to continuously improve himself and Tepperman's, strengthens the entire organization for the future. He understands the importance of people to our success – both with our customers and employees".
Tepperman’s commitment to strengthening its leadership team from within underscores its focus on maintaining a progressive, caring, and performance-driven culture. The company's legacy is built on the belief that its people are the true secret to success, as reflected in industry-leading customer reviews, awards, and its Great Place to Work® certification.
As Tepperman’s looks to the future with Masoud Negad at the forefront and a dynamic leadership team in place, the company is well-positioned to continue its tradition of excellence in customer service, community engagement, and business innovation.
