Gold Bond Hears Luxury White Mattresses Are Trending

Independent bedding manufacturer, Gold Bond, said it is hearing from its dealers that premium mattresses with higher-end white ticking are getting more looks by consumers on their floors than the colorful hues many producers have been introducing over the past few years.

The trend has led to an increase in sales of Gold Bond’s luxury Private Reserve collection, which is wrapped in “wedding dress white.”

“If you’ve been in a mattress store lately, so many of the beds are in just weird, dark

patterns. Everything has gone to grays and blacks. We countered that trend with Private Reserve, electing elegant white wedding dress looks,” said Gold Bond CEO Robert Naboicheck.

“What dealers are telling us, is that in the sea of dark and dreary, these while mattresses pop on the retail floor and end up having magnetic curb appeal.”

According to Naboicheck, wedding dress white has always been associated with “light,

goodness, innocence and purity.” He said those characteristics closely align with the preferences of the luxury consumer. Private Reserve mattresses include premium spring, foam and latex options that provide maximum support and comfort.

It is the company’s most luxurious and durable line, built around Leggett & Platt’s 1950 Zoned Quantum Coil unit, its finest, and then incorporates layers like zoned nano coils, Carpenter’s innovative Aurora spring-like foam that facilitates improved airflow and Talalay organic latex in its higher-end models. The top three mattresses in the collection each have 5,208 coils.

All mattresses in the line are two-sided, adjustable base friendly and wrapped in a 100-

percent Belgium rayon damask cover produced by Bekaert. The mattresses range in price from $2,000 to $3,000 in queen at retail, making them one of the most affordable groupings in the luxury bedding sector.

“Consumers are investing in luxury sleep products that provide the ultimate in comfort and support. The new Private Reserve collection curates some of the newest and innovative components in luxury sleep in a durable mattress that will perform for decades,” he added.

Naboicheck added that Gold Bond does carry more colorful ticking that can be added to Private Reserve for dealers who have that requirement.
