Designer Castiglioni & Promemoria Create Ethereal Higgs Lamp

Lighting design guru Piero Castiglioni and high-end Italian furniture maker Promemoria have joined creative forces one more time and have crafted the "Higgs," a striking lamp featuring a whirling LED inside an ethereal Muran glass bowl.
The lamp comes in a bedside, floor, and hanging version.
Drawing inspiration from innovation, human intelligence and timeless elegance, architect and designer Castiglioni —author of significant lighting projects including the Pompidou Center and the Orsay Museum in Paris,— created a lamp with a double-sided LED strip that meanders and levitates inside a Muran glass sphere irradiating a glam immersive glow.
The dedication of the lamp to the Nobel Prize in Physics Peter Higgs mirrors Promemoria founder Romeo Sozzi's enduring admiration of human cleverness as well as a quest for flawless quality in technique and in esthetic.
Whether the finish of the glass is transparent, fume' or amethyst, Higgs' lighting effect is bold and ethereal at the same time: This lamp is indeed a focal point, a true statement -you can't miss his presence in a room!- yet it has the weightlessness of the moon, embodying the exquisite and rare art of the glass blowers on the Venetian island of Murano.
