Stange's of Waupaca to Close After 72 Years

Since 1952, Stange’s of Waupaca has been a premiere retail destination for upscale whole home furnishings and beloved for its superior customer service, unique products and excellent selection. Leading furniture promotional sales specialists Planned Furniture Promotions (PFP) is handling the going-out-of-business sale for this prominent family-owned and operated company.

The legacy of Stange’s of Waupaca began when Bob Stange quit his job as a high school teacher and opened a furniture business. The company, also known as Stange Furniture Store, originally sold TV’s and radios as well as furniture. As business grew, Bob expanded the inventory to include mattresses, rugs and home accessories.

They also offered in-home design services with the help of his wife, Lois. Bob passed down the family business to his sons, Mark and John, who devoted their lives to furnishing the homes of their patrons with the same passion and integrity. Stange’s is currently owned by Mark and John’s widow, Liz Stange.

Stange’s of Waupaca will commence its final sale Sept. 19, liquidating all merchandise across the 24,000-square-foot showroom including top brands such as Ekornes/Stressless, Century, Lexington, BDI, Hooker, Rowe, Hekman, Lexington, Southern Motion, Riverside, Spring Air, and El Ran.
