BedMart Mattress Announces Promotion to President

2024 by Karen Parrish in Business Strategy, Industry
BedMart Mattress Superstores, a family-owned and operated mattress retailer, is proud to announce the promotion of Elana Stone Anderson to President, making her one of the few women to hold such a position in an industry traditionally dominated by men.
As part of this leadership transition, BedMart’s founder, Steven Stone, will continue in his role as Chief Executive Officer, ensuring the company remains family led as it expands and evolves.
With an extensive background in marketing, Elana has been instrumental in shaping BedMart’s brand, driving growth, and enhancing the customer experience. Having served as vice president of marketing for several years, she brings a unique perspective to the President role, focused on innovative strategies, personalized service, and expanding the company's footprint in both Oregon and Hawaii.
Her elevation to President reflects BedMart’s commitment to forward-thinking leadership and diversity in an industry that has long been male-driven.
“Elana’s deep understanding of marketing and customer engagement, combined with her unwavering dedication to BedMart, makes her uniquely qualified for this role,” said Steven Stone, who founded BedMart in 1992. “I couldn’t be prouder to share the leadership of the company with her. In an industry where women are underrepresented in top executive roles, Elana’s promotion is not just a milestone for our company, but for the industry as a whole.”
Since founding BedMart over 32 years ago, Steven Stone has held the dual roles of President and CEO. Recognizing the growing challenges and opportunities facing the business, he felt it was time to divide leadership responsibilities. In his ongoing role as CEO, Steven will continue to guide BedMart’s long-term strategy while Elana takes on the day-to-day operations and execution of the company’s vision.
This transition comes at a time of significant growth for BedMart. The company recently acquired two Mattress Land of Oregon locations in Grants Pass and Medford, adding to its existing stores in Portland, Salem, Central Oregon, and across the Hawaiian Islands. Both newly acquired locations will undergo a transition to BedMart branding by late December 2024.
