"Brick Worthy" Supports Hall of Fame & Provides Tribute Opportunity

The American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame Foundation is launching a new “Brick Worthy” fundraising campaign to support its Pathways of Honor program. The new campaign features an engaging video, as well as a variety of creative ads designed for online and print use that invite industry members to honor someone special by purchasing a brick in the Hall of Fame’s entry courtyard, known as the Pathways of Honor.

For a donation of $1,000, donors can honor a family member, mentor, friend or organization who has helped pave the way for them in their lives or careers by buying a commemorative brick in the Pathways of Honor sculpture garden. The bricks will be permanently etched with the names of honorees and installed in the courtyard in front of the new Hall of Fame building in High Point, N.C., where the iconic Wanek Family and Ashley Furniture Industries Eternal Flame sculpture is located.

Located front in center at the entrance to the building at 311 S. Hamilton St., the Wanek Family and Ashley Furniture Industries Eternal Flame flickers brightly day and night. The Eternal Flame serves as a reminder of the enduring nature of the home furnishings industry and the unique position the home – and the furnishings that go in it – holds for the world.

“Our new building is a place to recognize the countless people across every corner of the business who have helped make our industry prosper and grow,” says Karen McNeill, CEO and chairman of the Hall of Fame Foundation’s board of directors. “We call those people ‘brick worthy’ — worthy of permanent recognition at the place where the industry comes together, at the spot we call home and where we celebrate and honor our peers.”

The engraved bricks create a lasting tribute to an employee, a co-worker, a boss or company founder, McNeill adds. “They honor that mentor who helped you get to this point in your career — the people who made a big difference. This is the perfect way to say bravo to them while also supporting the good work of the Hall.”

By buying a brick or two, donors will help “welcome guests to the commanding entrance to the industry’s new home, which is fast becoming a popular backdrop for selfies sent around the world,” adds McNeill. “It’s a fantastic way to recognize a special someone and the innovation, craftsmanship and creativity that are at the foundation of the home furnishings business.”
